Hello I am new on here and i need some help, played all the NWN which was great, do u need to put the hak file in the NWN hak folder before i can even start playin? i just can't seem to find the link to where i can create my character either !!! HELP...............

Ok first after you DL the files needed to play there should be instructions.
.hak files go in hak,.tlk go in Talk,etc.

If I missed anything a DM will add that in a post.

first of all welcome to Layonara

You need to download all the files from here: http://nwn.layonara.com/Downloads

Hak goes into Hak folder and Tlk into Tlk Folder

Then you write your character bio and submit it here: http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=47
This also contains a lot of info regarding how submissions should be made.

When that is approved you can log into the game servers and be prepared to a lot of fun.

Hello and welcome.

First of all... yes you should put all of the haks in the /hak folder and all of the .tlk files into the /tlk folder.

Secondly, you create a character in the forums. You log in and visit the sub-forum of character submissions. I suggest you read all of the stickied topics and for ideas of a character, even read the handboox which is available for download in the downloads section. Then once you are aware of all the rules and have a character bio ready, you may post it in the Submission sub-forum and wait until you get approved.

Once that is done, you're as good as a layonarian.

Its great to see how fast people can get help around here. Its amazing this is all run by volunteers. Most businesses don't have this quick response in customer service.

Hey there thanx for the info...........i have downloaded the hak file and stuff.and when i try and open the file , it says i need to open it from somwhere..........but where !!! *pulls hair out*

is the file already zipped?

The files are in rar format, use a program like WinRAR to extract the files. Then places the extracted files in your folders.

Hmmm after you downlaod the files you need to unzip them if you havnt...Theres a nifty gram here called zip genius that unzips most files. Dowload it free at http://www.zipgenius.com .....when you use the program it will unzip them automatically if you click on open when download prcess is finished. just click on extract files....then choose a destination. You will want to put them inside you NWN directory folder which is ussually located in your hardrive under program files or wherever you put it of course. Like stated above Tlk goes in tlk folder....haks in your hak folder. The mdl head files go in override folder. A easy way to do this is look at the last three letters of the file. and then look in all your folders to see if the last three of the other files are the same...If they are you will knwo you can throw them in there. Now this dosnt work with everything lol. This is a way a explained it to a freind and he caught on pretty fast so hope it helps.

O if you need layonara_v13.rar its not in layonara_allhaks.rar its not on the download page
So you have to hack the site to get it with

Seems pretty evident where to get it on my end. It is on the Downloads page... Custom Talk Table

Hey, if you are new to this sort of gaming don't worry. It might seem difficult but it really isn't. Keep trying and ask for help, you can see the great players here who will help out at the drop of a dime. And it is WELL worth it, I might as well wrap my NWN box with Layonara prints.
