Some Questions about Layonara
« on: January 15, 2007, 06:51:04 pm »
Hello Guys!

I didn´t know where to post, so i did it in here. Sorry if it is the wrong place. 8)

I think i saw somenthing about making CDQ´s to reach the epic level.
I realy need to do it? If yes, in which level??

I play a paladin and I want to make him a Champion of Toran when i reach level 10. Is it possible?
What do i need to become a Champion of Toran?

About those interest points. What are they?
As i´am a Paladin, is there any problem in use them to get XP??

aarrgh!! i can´t remember any other questions...:(
If i do, i will post it here again.

 Thanks.
 Bye.

1) With the new world leader system in order it is not required that your character take a world leader development quest to become level twenty one or higher. This used to be a requirement but is no longer so. if you feel your character has brought for significant changes or aided in significant quests in the world then by the time level 21 and one RL year of being that character comes around feel free to apply however it is not a requirement.

2) a CDQ , I believe is required to become a champion of Toran. A CDQ can only be requested after the tenth level unless multiclassing into a Prestige Class. If you look at this:

http://nwn.layonara.com/PrC%20Submission%20Requirements

It will tell you what requirements are asked for each prestige class.  For example I think a divine champion is what you mean and it falls under special , which means it will require lots of rp, a good character development thread (a journal of your character posted in the appropriate place on the forums) and one or more CDQS. Keep in mind CDQs can only be requested once every two months.

Also Keep in mind that the requirements by way of feats skills etc will still be needed to multiclass into these classes and that there is a chance for failure on CDQ, so do not build your character and your fun upon the NEED to go into this class, instead make sure you're having fun as what you are as well

Thanks LynnJuniper,

But with those answers, i have new questions :)

You said, that i need to make a journal of my character in the forum. I haven´t started it yet. Is there any problem?
You said i need a lot of RP. What does that mean?
In the link you posted me, thanks by the way, is said i need a updated character bio. It´s just a new bio, with my character experiences?  And where shall i post it?

Thanks again.
bye

You said that I need to make a journal of my character in the Forum. I haven't started it yet. Is there a problem? ------

Not really, start your journal off as soon as.....writing about your character and the deeds they've done that would qualify them for the Champion of Toran class. Include RP ( Role-playing ) situations to show that this is your characters goal, and what he/she does to achieve this goal. When InGame, you will need to constantly show that your character follow's the rules and examples of your Deity.....and again, add this to your journal on a regular basis.

When you reach Level 10.....put your original character submission in The Character Submission's forum, and add some extra on to it,with a link to your CD thread ( journal ),  showing again what your character has done and how you've RP'd becoming a Champion of Toran. You may need to do a CDQ ( Character Development Quest) to gain it, but that'll be up to the GM's.

( Rhynn will correct me if I'm wrong anywhere here. Good luck! )

Thanks LordCove,

But i think you didn´t saw a question i did before,i would be glad if someone answer it:

About those interest points. What are they?
As i´am a Paladin, is there any problem in use them to get XP??

I´am talking about some flags around the world.
For example, there´s one ((somewhere that was edited out ;) )).

Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with a paladin exploring the world and finding out more about it.  The term "xp" is and OOC (out of character) one.  It's a mechanical representation of how your character grows from their experiences.

However with Quests and XP you must think of what makes sense for your character.

Example: An Aeridinite or Druid may find killing rats in the sewers or getting pelts for Johan to be against their beliefs. Always think RP first , XP second and you'll do find staying in the mindset of your character.

These things like crating are great things to learn about and ask about in game. Its a good way to make new friends and to get to see more of the world. Gathering hard to get CNR together. craft items to sell, trade or use. Look into the craft halls.. ask some questions to the people you see crafting. You can buy recepies from the store wendors. But to find out were to find the CNR you got to explore either with a group(more fun and easier that way)  or go out by yourself.

There are many crafts on Layo and the system is very complex and HUGE.  Best thing is to start with one or two crafts that you think would suit your character and then go from there..

In the Merchant shop in most towns, mainly in Hlint Eastside, you'll find a craftvendor who sell's what look like cards. Each on a specific subject, tinkering, tailoring, armour making.....

....and around the world you will find the resources to make items, Corn, Copper, Silk, Cotton.....

....using these resources with various tools in the Craft hall, you can make various handy things to help you along.

You can buy them from the craft vendor by selecting the conversation option about them (they're not in his normal store)

You know, I don't know if all these technicalities should be figured out in game. But my request is maybe to start a new forum as a general faq to answer questions and then from there update the official FAQ with things like "Just how do I change the way my outfit looks anyway"

Or maybe a quick D&D for Newbies guide.

You can buy houses by going into the real estate stores scattered around the different cities. They don't come cheap though, and there are very few houses left available as far as I can tell.

You'll be lucky to find an empty house on Mistone. When you speak to the Real estate agent in various area's, if no house's are listed for sale.....well, there's none available to buy in that area.

As for buying off a player, put a post in the Tradehall. But be wary, you're looking at "quite a cost".
