Venture to the Underdark

*written in a spidery calligraphy this notice is posted in Hlint, Hampshire, Point Harbor, Pranzis, and Lorindar*
Explorers and adventurers,
An expedition is being organized to explore the vast reaches of the Underdark. Gloin, a great cleric of Vorax has agreed to lead this expedition and I intend to help. We seek three things... adventure, a better understanding of the terrain, and Mithril so that Gloin may better equip the defenders of Mistone with weapons and armor. If you choose to come please leave your name here as we decide upon a time.
Tathnolu Rilyn'val-
Note: Clerics Requested
\\\\ We're thinking of venturing down on a Saturday (the 18th works best for me as I won't be readily available this weekend. Also we're thinking about doing this in the early evening EST around 7:30-8:30 for a starting time. A quick OOC warning, this is a very dangerous place, if you're lower than level 12, bring a bow, also we don't want too many people as it's a cramped space and it will get cluttered so as much fun as this sounds no more than 15 people please. *Owen reads the notice and scratches his chin. Then writes the following:*
I would love to travel the Underdark and get a better understanding of what goes on there. I can lend my bow as well as the power of song.

//Make sure you add this to the Player Calendar once a time is decided. As for me, 7:30 - 8pm EST is perfect.

*written in a similar style to the original note, yet by a different hand*
I would join you in this...I would like to explore this place, though my strength is not currently vast. I will assist in any way I can.

I will join in this, the drow have attacked us up here for very long, I wouldn't mind taking some of them down in their own territory. I would like to have some of that mithril though, if we find any.

-All Mithril goes to Gloin if we find any. He is the only one who can work it into a proper metal and the only crafter that I know of who is even worthy to try.

*a hooded creature, lithe and agile in its movements approaches carefully and whispers to Tath before fading into the crowd once more*
The dark is at war, you would do well to count your blessings on the surface.

*Tath grins and mutters to himself without looking back to see who whispered in his ear*
"Sounds like a challenge to me."

*Ahndar reads the note as he passes through Lorindar. A look of dismay passes over his face*
I fear a group of that size will only find death in the underdark. If ever i am to venture down there again, it will be a small but strong group of people i trust, and know can handle themselves in such a place.
Best of luck to all those that decide to go, may Lucinda watch over you...

Plen gasps when he reads the post and writes underneath.
Mithril? In the Underdark? Who has come across this incredible discovery?

*Sago walks up and chuckles at Plen's writing, then fills in a comment of his own.*
Plen good man, I think Tath said he and Gloin merely hope to find some there. Seeing as they are seasoned adventurers, though still far from my skill level, they likely have seen many of the surface locations. With no mithril yet found, they concluded, perhaps erroneously it may be found in the underdark.
If they are lucky they'll bring along a Master Adventurer as they'll likely fail without one.

*Tath walks up and tears down his post placing a new on in it's place*
After contemplating a message I recieved I've decided that my idea for this trip had very bad timing. I will not be joining and I do not believe Gloin will either. "The dark is at war, you would do better to count your blessings on the surface" is the message I reieved, and if I know what "the dark" means, venturing down there is folly. Not only would we deal the the "normal" dangers of the Underdark which I have seen first hand, but we would be facing possibly more perril from "the dark" and whatever it's fighting.
Until the storm passes. Tathnolu-
((I do intend to do this eventually because I feel it only fair that the Underdark be tested by such a fearless adventurer as I.
But Tath feels it is not wise so it is posponed. Sorry, and sorry if I got anyone excited over nothing... yet))
