its harder to make mahogany shafts than it is to make arrows

I found this oddity a bit ago.  I am 55% to make the missle shafts while 80% to make the copper tipped, falcon tailed mahagany arrows.  Also at 55% only 8 xp is rewarded for successful shaft making and 36 xp at the 80% upon completing the arrows.  Is the 55% a typo or something else amiss?

Yeah noticed the xp thing as well I get like 10 or so xp fer shafts but 180xp to make the arrows themselves when the % is exactly the same???

I think this issue was discussed before.  I think it has something to do with the finished product.  When you make the shafts, they only require wood branches.  But in order to make the arrows, you need 3 items: shaft, feather, and arrowhead.  Thus, when you finish making the arrows, you get more xp than making the shafts because of the complexity even though your percentage of making them are different.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.

you are correct. The same thing occures in Gem crafting.  I have a 90% to cut topaz and I get 14 exp. When I poilsh the stone I get 28 exp.  finished products should get more exp.

The xp reward here is not really the focus here.  With crafting gems I do notice the trends stated.  I get 14 for cutting the topaz and 28 for polishing it.  However, I am the same percentage on both whatever that percentage may be (example 50 to cut and 50 to polish).  

In the case of making mahogany ammunition, a precurser (the shafts) are harder to make than the finished product (arrows or bolts).  It seems like percentage wise they should be a little closer than 55 and 80.  I posted a similar thing a while ago with mahogany sandpaper being easier to make than the parchments of mahogany paper.  It is a bit more intuitive for the precurser to be easier to make than the finished products and not the reverse.

I was curious if there was a similar glitch here is all.

naw, forgot to mention this in my previous post, but the thing is making oak arrow shafts gaved good XP around 20-30% but fer Mahagony t'is like rediculous.  I mean I feel bad about working on Mahagony IG because so far all I can do with it is arrowshafts, when I can lol, since pretty much all else would just go to waste, M. sandpaper beeing very hard as well and Mahagony beeing such a pain to get since the new changes...it's like I hit a wall.
Beeing where I'm at, I make oakbows in my sleep as well as oak arrow Iron tipped, that leaves me compounds bows to improve my skill, which I do but still seems weird that making shafts was good xps up till Mahagony and then when us woodworkers reach the road to the holy graal, BAM, flat tire

So would like to know if this was done on pourpose, t'is a bug or an over-site?

@ Yash, to make sandpaper I've always had the same % on all three steps, whether it was Hickory, Oak or Mahagony.  Weird that fer ye t'is different on this :s

Mahogany a pain to get? A group of 4 level 13-16s shouldn't have a big problem getting Mahogany.

That depends, since the "ninja" fairies, I don't even go back to that grove to the North, anything that takes out both Gold and Yash before they know what happens, I say is a hell of a lot harder then shouldn't be a big problem LOL
as fer the Mecca of Mahagony those acid giants aren't exactly school girls either heh heh but I think and this is a personal thing that getting wood should be a 1-2 person thing and those need min. 3, with a magic user either cleric or mage and all 3 at least 14th.  They hit hard which is normal but they're suspiciously nimble fer guys that big
And this is to the first grove only 3 trees and no shaman, don't even know yet what that bugger can do to us heh heh  As for the one with about 20+ giants having tea, well twas fun and had that oh dung they see me I'm dead exciting feel to it but I wouldn't try an all out attack with a group of only 4 players, that's fer sure.

I'm not really sure there is a problem here.  What sort of suggestion are you trying to make? (Any Metal)/Mahogany missiles should be more difficult then they are?

I think what he's saying is it's harder to make the shafts for the arrows (55% for him) yet when he tries to make missiles they'r easier (80%). Yet he gets more xp for making the arrows than for the shafts.

The metal is a factor in the missile creation xp, the missiles give more xp as they are a finished product of quite a few things, arrowheads, shafts and feathers.
