Can a Rogue be a Gem Crafter?

I know that I cannot enchant them but can a Rogue shape them and shine them and such?  I would love to make pretty gems...I think that this craft fits Remy's personality the most.  Thanks.

Unless something has changed a rogue could do all aspects of gemcrafting. The gem craft chisel is/was a dagger slot weapon and the gemmers pick is/was a light simple weapon.

Yup, my rogue Vin is a pretty darned good gem crafter actually. He even enchants some of them. He just can't enchant them with spells like to make a Bull's Strength ring.

As a matter of fact, being a rogue, you would most likely have the dexterity that is required in intricately cutting a jewel.  Poor Scherzo does it, and he posessed the grace and agility of a pregnant cow, so I know you can do it.

That's one great thing about this game: craft-wise, anyone can be anything.  So go nuts.  Sure, some crafts might be a little harder to start than others, but there's nothing stopping ya.

I bought some of the tools but i found out that Remy can't use the small pick right now.  I don't see why he could use a rapier and not a small pick!  What attribute would I have to increase to help him with this?

  You can mine gems with either a small pick or a gem chisel. Rogues can hold knives, which means they can hold chisels, which means they can mine gems.

the small Picks are for the pregnant cows.
