House Crates temporarily missing

Nothing broken here, per se, but when I logged in this morning into the guild house
161 Port Hampshire all the crates and placed items and the portal were missing.
However after I left the house--- closed the door --- and then reentered
everything reappeared. I've logged into the guildhouse any number of times
and this never happened before. Odd that the DB wasn't accessed that time.

You need to exit the building and then close the door.  Then interact with the door and enter.  It is the interaction with the front door that causes the housing items to load.

This freaked me out the first time it happened to me too.  Just leave the house and go back inside like Leanthar said.

You may have not noticed it before because the server had reset since you last logged.  Moving out of bugs.
