Wild magic
I was travelling near Fort Hope because I got a little bored in Hlint. I soon found myself in some mountains and a hilly forest. This forest was filled with small strange humanoid creatures. I travelled deeper into the mountains and got into a very dark valley. I tried to cast light but nothing happened. I then tried again hoping that my arcane spell wouldn’t fail. I was turned into a chicken when I cast the spell and soon realized that this was one of the wild magic areas that I have been warned about and have tried to be in before. I don’t know the source of this weave destroying area. But I’ll use some time to find out more about the area when I see Dearon again. I am almost sure that he mentioned that there was a strange area in those mountains. *Storold mumbles after writing this part of the entry*Hmmm… Better get done with the assignment in elven… What was I to write? Oh I remember something that I have to do in the near future. *Written in insecure and incorrectly elven* I must be sure to protect the clergy at all cost. I just saw Roxx’s gravestone in the blood desert so I must speak with him to find out if he needs protection.

The search for Roxx
I was asked by a priest who I meet in Hlint to go find Roxx. I did try to find him but he was hard to track down. Therefore I had only one option which was going to his house. While I was on my way I was accompanied by Mapleseed who helped me get there. I slipped a note under Roxx’s door. --- Dear Roxx You have to report to Blackford castle for questioning immediately. The clergy wants some information about your usage of the weave. *Signed*Storold, defender of the weave --- And then returned to report at Blackford Castle and was told that I could forget this case unless Roxx didn’t answer back to the upper clergy. I later meet Roxx and told him that he had to report at blackford later. This was also reported to the temple at Black Ford castle.

Talking to Celgar
I talked to Celgar today. He told me the history about the wild magic area in the mountains near fort Hope. It seem that some drow have opened a rift to a shadow plane. The drow who did this are really strong and can’t be beaten anytime soon. Therefore I’ll think more than twice before I will try to go there again. I have been making some progress in my elven class. But I still have a long way to go before I have mastered the elven language. My alchemy class is also going very well I have learned to make many new potions and will soon begin to make other than cure moderate potions.

Regular defence training gone bad…
I was told to go to Lellion to join an escorting mission so I could train my abilities in this art. When I got there several other had responded to this assignment as well. We where told by a man to go to Ravens watch to find the man we where going to escort safely between the Barbarian Islands the man who we where going with was Joseph. We took him to the place he was headed and where told to stay out of a small cave where he was going. Some went in, invisible, and tried to make sure that he stayed out of trouble. This didn’t help much though as he was killed when he entered the cave. We all got back to the man in Lellion who turned out to be Joseph’s brother. He told us that Joseph’s daughter had been kidnapped and the people he was seeing in that cave was the ones that had done it.

A lot of dying… And talking to Celgar again
I was travelling together with Zan, Spungle and a bunch of other adventures in the broken forest and the old ruins. It went pretty well until we got attacked by some spiders and beetles while our party was off guard and not expecting an attack. I was killed and a few others fell too. When I returned to the site the party was scattered across the forest and again I was slain again. I though I was going back to the temple yet again instead I began feeling the life-force returning to my body. As I opened my eyes I saw Celgar standing next to me. He had apparently used his divine powers to bring me back to life again. After the party was gathered again we marched towards the campfire by the temple in the woods. Celgar told us that we needed to be better at tactics and not scatter as much as we did when the spiders and beetles attacked. *Storold sits for a while and then goes to the library to pick up a book on tactics in elven. As he returns he mumbles*Better train two skills at once instead of just one.

Learning the ways of the weave
After talking to Daeron about knowing the weave and its use. I got a new scroll from him a very dark one… I can’t use it right now because the writing and enchantments make my head hurt. Maybe with some more arcane training I’ll be able to cast it as a counter spell. I didn’t pay for the scroll but Daeron said that I could do him a favour later. Although I don’t know what he’ll ask of me I am sure it will be something that I can learn a great deal from. But anyway I then began to purchase some of the lower circle scrolls to get more knowledge of the weave. Some of them where offensive spells that can potentially kill your enemy. I think I once wowed never to use them. But now it seems to me that the Lady will keep me on the right track and I’ll be safe from going insane with a desire for power.

Darkness in Sielwood
I was travelling trough Hlint and decided to stop at the campfire where I meet several people whom I knew. I was gazing to the sky when someone said that birds where leaving Sielwoods. We talked a bit and suddenly a ranger appeared. The ranger said that the Sielwood had been taken over by a strange darkness and the temple inside was under attack from shadow coming out of this darkness. We went to the temple and were told that the darkness came from an area close to the temple. We found a small cave in this area which we went into to find the cause of the darkness. We found a portal leading to a library where we expected to find the cause of the darkness. Most unfortunate I was teleported back to Spellgard for guard duty and couldn’t help solve this mystery. I later talked to Lan and Elladan who looked deeper into this thing and found out that there was a spellcaster behind this. They have tracked him down to a place on Rilara and I think I’ll be able to join the group in their efforts to get the man responsible for this punished.

Travelling at sea with a purpose
I have heard rumors of ships returning to Fort Valensk with entire crews killed and filled cargo holds, and I was determined to try to find out what caused this especially because it could have something to with the weave and therefore my duty. Many others where interested in this as well so we decided to rent a boat to take us to sea. The only thing that proved problematic was to find someone willing to sail the boat for us when so many sailors had been killed. We eventually found a crew willing to take us to sea but the only thing bothering me was the self appointed leader being a Toranithe… And of course the crazy halfling Taislin who costed us 1500gp extra because he began talking of slinging fireballs onboard the ship.... We found a ship sailing the sea quietly but when we approached the ship we found that the crew where dead. We found out that the ship had sailed into some kind of fog and then where attacked by a ship filled with some kind of undead. A day later a fog came close to the ship and suddenly we spotted a ship moving in the fog. The ship was filled with undead creatures that attacked our ship at once. We quickly slay the undead creatures and were free of the fog not long after. The only lead we got now is the name of the ship that attacked us, Icy Maiden.

Cleaning Noy’s name
After the event that happened when a group of adventures and me were to escort a man from ravens watch to somewhere on the barbarian isles Noy, Josephs brother, was still being held in Lelion for the murder that happened back on the barbarian isles. The only thing that really annoyed me about this trip was the fact that Tre was coming… She had earlier that week tried very hard to charm me with a spell of hers and was already from the start trying to make me angry before we even left Lelion. The trip was kind of hard as the gypsies who killed Joseph where well armed and had joined forces with the local gnoll population. We fought hard and eventually Tre died to some kobolds that attacked us for no apparent reason. I don’t really like Tre but seeing her dead in no-man’s-land was a bit too much for me so I encouraged people to move fast so we could get her body secured and then bring her to some kind of healer who could help her. Unfortunately we ran into a man who could heal her but asked us to give him 200gp for doing so… I had though out a plan to get Tre into the Lucindite faith if we could just get the body of the island, but that is a long story… We eventually captured the leader of the gypsies who admitted killing Joseph but he told us it was part of a much bigger scheme involving witches and people from Karthy. We freed Noy when we got back to Lelion and got our revard of 8000gp for cleaning his name.

Seeing Tre again
Some time after the events on the barbarian islands I saw Tre in Hampshire. I was there to buy some alexandrite dust from a man named Rashar. I tried to ignore her and stay invisible just to avoid being charmed and spotted. I did fail my attempt to stay hidden but I didn’t talk to her because I knew I would end up saying something stupid to her or she would begin insulting me and my faith again.
Preparing to help
I have spent a whole week preparing myself to help Tia with her advancement in the church hierarchy. Lots of time reading and talking to various people around Spellgard. This gave me a unique chance to get a little more into the faith and also getting to know some of the scholars and priests that live in Spellgard a little better. I now have studied the written elven language enough to begin my training in actually speaking elven. This might take a whole lot longer that learning to read elven but I’ll be worth it in the end as most lore is best told in the original language. But I am almost late for classes so I better run now…

The illness in Drake
I meet Tia outside Leilon where she and Jharl where talking while she was cooking some fish. It started to rain as it usually does in that part of Mistone and Tia invited us into her house where a man named Samir, a halfling named Briar and another man called Ma’er joined us. After we had talked for a while a messenger from Spellgard knocked on the door. She brought a message to Tia which said that she where to report in Spellgard at once. We travelled there and Tia went to see one of the nightwovens the rest of us stayed in the temple. Unfortunately Ma’er got sick and had to be left at the temple while the healers tended to him and Samir had to leave because of some family business. But after a few hours Tia returned she had been questioned by the nightwoven all the time we had been waiting for her. She told us that she had been given a mission that would take us to Drake. Apparently the local population had been infected with a strange illness and Tia should try to heal them if possible. The trip to Drake was quite easy as no-one who tried to stop us except the goblins outside Spellgard who where no problem. When we got there both me and Tia sensed that there was something that was unbalancing the weave in the area. Also the people that died to the disease got turned into skeletons that attacked us. We where told by a man who was slipping away that the red splashes that where present in the city came from the nearby forest. We investigated the forest and found that the disturbance in the weave was centred in a cave very deep in the forest. We found a almost dead dwarven wizard in the cave he told us that the thing causing this was deeper within the caves. We travelled deeper and discovered an apparatus that seemed to channel some kind of necromantic force. Apparently the device was out of alignment and needed to be repaired. But this repair was beyond our skill and we decided to go back to Spellgard rather than try to destroy it. We meet some priest on the way back who told us that they where searching for us because we had been gone for far too long. They got the mess cleaned up and we returned to report in Spellgard. Tia was rewarded for her efforts to find the cause of the illness and will be official threadbound after the Rites of Affirmation.

Helping a ghost
I was travelling to Pranzis for some strange reason and found myself involved in a mystery about a ghost in one of the local inns. The ghost was a young woman who had spend some time after her wedding at the inn and was killed on a journey together with her husband to Saudira. She wasn’t killed on the same spot as her husband though. But was dragged to some cave and killed by some kind of giant witchdoctor. Her soul where then bound to the room in the inn and she could get back to her beloved husband again. We set out to the desert and eventually found the cave after a lot of though fights and a couple of deaths including me dying three times but we where successful and the woman’s soul where free to leave this plane and return to her husbands side.

Learning a bit of elven
I have spent some time in Spellgard together with some elven mages who have agreed to help me learn the language. Although they are pushing my endurance very hard making me listen to them talk for a very long time and then begin just to reveal some of the words they’re using to me I still progress in my learning step by step. Sometimes though I am so lucky that I find some more friendly teachers who spend much more time on trying to make me understand what they are saying but this happens very rarely. I hope that I may be able to speak the language fluently in some moths from now as I don’t have the greatest understanding of the pronouncing of most of the words and still struggle to understand even some of the simplest words.

Finding the sorcerer behind the darkness …
I travelled to Karthy where a party where going to find the sorcerer behind the darkness in Sielwood. He should be hidden in a tower somewhere by a river on Rilara. We had talked to the sorcerer’s apprentice who told us where the sorcerer lived and gave us a key so we could enter his tower. We found a hidden entrance inside the tower which led us to an underground maze of tunnels the journey to the bottom of this maze where very toiling and I visited Soulmother once because of a venoms scorpion. I then began to use my healing skills I learned when I was an initiate in the church. We finally found the lair of the sorcerer and found that he had made a device to make shadows. We destroyed the device and found the sorcerer who attacked us on sight and where therefore swiftly killed by us. I then returned to Spellgard and found the city preparing for the up coming Rites of Affirmation… I simply didn’t have the power to go on more that day so I got to bed early instead of joining the celebration.

Demons attacking Mistone
After a short trip to Dregar I returned to Mistone and heard the news of Xandrial’s return to the abyss. His return had for some reason made the part of his army that stayed behind go berserk and attack random places on Mistone and properly also other continents. The adventures are having a hard time travelling the lands as do I have just walking the short way to Spellgard without being attacked by a demon. I went demon hunting together with a large crowd and eventually got some of the demons banished for some time. I also got some nice background information on the bloodwar along the way and now knows a bit more about the problems that Blood is causing.

Training language skills a bit more
After the invasion of demons on Mistone I finally got some time off to study elven together with my mentors. They sent me out to speak with some of the elves who live in Spellgard. Although I understood what they where saying to me I had a real hard time talking to them as my memory of the elven names for things is very bad. But I tried to do my best to do what I was told and got some stories about the elven families who live in spellgard. Now at least I know some of the people who live in the same town as I do. After I was done I went to study in the library to gain some more knowledge about the Bloodwar.

Finishing the business about the lost ship crews
I travelled a bit more with the party I earlier mentioned who where trying to find the reason for the disappearance of several ship crews in the waters around Fort Velensk. The information we had led us to believe that we could make the ghost ship disappear if we found the body of a young woman, or more precisely her remains. Apparently there had been made a curse against the captain of the ghost ship which made him sail the seas as long as he was separated from his love who was this young woman. The curse had been ordered by the woman’s father who didn’t like the idea of his daughter running of with a simple captain. We searched the Krandor crypts for the bones which should be all that where left of the woman now as she lived many human generations from now. We found her grave empty; the reason for this was later explained to us by the local undertaker. Apparently the crypts where frequently visited by grave robbers in the past and to secure the remains of the family the woman belonged to the bodies of the family members where buried at sea when we couldn’t go looking at the bottom of the sea for the remains we when to the Mist temple in Lelion. We where told that the local clergy could remove the curse if they could get something which belonged to the captain so we set out to sea trying to find the ship again and where successful in doing so. We found a ring in the captain’s quarters which we returned to the temple we where told to go sink the ghost ship one last time to end the curse and so we did. After finishing the job we went back to the man who helped us by lending his boat and crew to us. His reason for doing so was that he was part of the woman’s family and didn’t want his families reputation to suffer if word got out about who started this mess. Because the curse which where laid opun the captain was ordered by his family and as we later found out his ancestor lied to the clergy at the Mist temple to make them curse the captain. Mist had her way with this man as she sunk two of his ships as the curse was lifted. We left the man to his grief and went to Fort Velensk to get the reward that the local ship owners had gathered for us. I took my part back to Spellgard and donated it all to the temple there. All in all this was a job well done and there has been no further attacks on the ships down in Fort Velensk as far as I know.

Getting a little absent minded
I had recently begun to find it hard to remember all the people who are walking up to me and saying hello. Some of them are surely just being polite and are properly not friends of mine, but others seem to be someone I am supposed to know. Recently I meet a young lady dressed in almost white colours. She seemed to know me and introduced herself as Ayla at the time I didn’t recognise her but curiosity let me to go back in my journal to find that I once knew one Ayla who had been killed some moths prior to this meeting. I then though about who she had returned from the realm of the dead and decided to ask some of the higher rank priests about this. They told me that soul mother had been defeated and some of the souls she claimed had returned to walk the lands of the living again. I have had other things like this one happen to me where I just faked knowing the person I spoke with and hoping not to be asked about something that he or she told me about when I saw them last. I hope this weakness in my mind is just passing and wont end up making me unable to work at the temple.

Meeting another protector
I meet another protector this day. Matilda she is called she seems like a nice person who might guide me on my path to become a better protector. Right now I am struggling to remember anything besides my spells and have a really hard time remembering the rules of the church. She told me a lot about the ogres and goblins who shouldn’t for some reason be allowed to cast their spells. When I told her about my failing memory she told me that some woman whose name I have forgotten now could help me. She apparently had the power to see into peoples minds and maybe she could find the origin of the troubles I am having now. But sadly for the moment I am left in Hlint where I struggle to find any of the people who I used to travel with. Even if some of them should come by I would properly have forgotten about them. Maybe I should seek Matilda out and ask her about that woman again. If my current condition can be helped I should do what ever I can to make my memory better and larger that right now. Even the slightest improvement will be bliss. But for now a cure seems very far away as does my past except for the things that has happened within a week which is still quite clear to me.

Training and recovering
After a temporary loss of memory I have rested at the paladin quarters in Spellgard. I can now remember some of my distant past, I remember something about a mage but I have no clues as to what role this mage had in my life. I have met a lot of new lucindites in the months that have passed. They have helped me get through my crisis as I have been doubtful about my faith and the job as a protector. I have been training my language skills a whole lot more than my combat skills in the first part of my recovery period. I spend countless hours listening to elves talk and sometimes trying to answer them in their own tongue. My biggest accomplishment to date is a perfect translation of the wow of the protectors. It took me nearly a whole week of thinking and writing and then throwing all the work in the trash again because it wasn’t right. After this I have been trying to learn some new spells and make some progress in my arcane studies and have been most successful. I have learned to cast the lowest level spells without components and can now almost cast them at will. After all this my fighting skills seems even worse than ever. I have been falling so many times that I don’t even bother to count anymore. So that led me to become even more depressed and willing to drop my position as protector of the weave. But after meeting two twins who both worship Lucinda and watch how full of life they where it made me realise that there is more to worship than being a guard and having duties. It’s rather something that shapes your life and becomes part of you and not just part of your day. Besides from these things I have been making a lot of potions for the Stone effort. We will strike soon and I look forward to doing at least some good. I was given an iron long sword by Ael who is one of the leading forces in the effort. I will use most of the time before the attack on practising with this sword with the techniques Matilda has taught me over the past few weeks. Maybe I’ll finally be able to turn the tide of battle rather than just be lying down within the first minutes of combat. *There is a piece of parchment added in the book with a text written in blue ink* Lady of the weave, I heard your call and I will answer. I vow to be your servant and protect those who serve you. I shall defend your faith, your faithful and the weave to the best of my abilities. I shall seek out those who corrupt the weave and bring them to justice. I shall accompany and protect those who work in your name.
