Hi all. As some of you may know, I play Lan Aeldanner. He's a ranger and staunch follower of Folian S'pae. He believes in protecting all wild places from the enemies of his deity as well as guiding the unwary traveller through such places to protect both travellers, and the wild animals who live in such places from eachother. To most, I hope Lan lives up to a rough approximation of what they consider a good ranger to be.
One small point I wish to make is about the Rapid Shot Feat. Its is possibly the most useful feat any archer worth their salt could take. It allows them to fire off a rapid succession of arrows, most of which hit for middling damage. The more powerful the archer, the greater their potential with this feat. However.....NWN A.I. dictates that as an enemy falls, another is automatically selected and firing commences. The drawback with this feat is that in places inhabited by wild animals that are targetable, though not neccessarily hostile, they become the next target once all hostiles are dead. Same with attacking summons or animal companions etc. So to some druids and rangers it will seem like archers immediately target the nearest animal in their wild blood frenzy once all enemy targets are dead. This aint so. Im not sure how to work around this, but I certainly wouldnt want Lan pulled up before the Vakhar just because he was seen shooting a random wild boar because the A.I of Rapid Shot made him. I just think that in some cases the players of druids and rangers should allow a little leniency for archers who use this feat. Thanks all for reading the post.
