Where was I last.. ah yes, by the campfire, Balazar went back into town also, but only to refill his canteen and the like, so Tara, Cymeran and I had a rather in-depth conversation of deity relations and their beliefs, I must admit, she has got me intrigued in Vorax, the deity she worships, he seems to strive for good, although from the little I have read of him, it seemed to me as if he was mainly a god of war. I was also rather interested in Cymerans' god, Az'atta, apparantely she is, like Cymeran, a drow elf, yet she is not evil, intriguing that, I can't say I've read much, but I was under the impression all drow worshipped Vierdri'ira or Baraeon Ca'Duz, depending on their gender. Az'atta seems to mainly be focused on redemption, so it would make sense that most dark elves seen on the surface would follow her, I should like to look into this some more sometime...

I probably should have finished off recounting what happened at the campfire in my last entry, but I was rather tired whilst writing it and decided to head back to the inn. Anyhow, when Balazar came back to the campfire, and once all were ready, we decided to go for another foray into the crypts. Just as we were about to leave, a rather odd looking Halfling approached the campfire, he did not seem to speak common very well, but we could still understand him easily enough, we introduced ourselves and he introduced himself, rather awkwardly, as Jabra. A lady named Alyse also came to the campsite whilst we were talking to Jabra, so, after the usual pleasantries, we invited them to come with us into the crypts, and both decided to join us, Jabra needed to be getting the essence from the shade in their anyway, obviously 'The Undertaker' needed some more. I'm not too sure if I mentioned it in my earlier entries, and I dare not check lest I get ink on the other pages, but both Cymeran and Balazar are also clerics, I believe Balazar either is a cleric of Vorax or Toran, although I may be wrong. The undead were certainly not pleased to see the clerics, some simply dropping dead, whilst others simply tried to get as far away as possible, rather annoying as that meant we had to chase them. We seemed to be joined by a black panther whilst in the crypts, it seemed that it was accompanying the odd Halfling, Jabra. Not much to say about our little trip into the crypts, nothing of great importance happened, although Balazar was rather fatigued and decided to head back to the inn partway through.

I haven't put an entry in for a while now, a couple of days back, I checked the notice I put up at the Wild Surge Inn, still there was no reply, although there was a notice for an exploration party going out the next day, to explore southern Mistone, I decided to sign up for it, it would be interesting to go out without fear of being attacked by the wide variety of creatures and beasts here. I met with the group by the campsite south-west of town, there were five of us in all, myself, Cymeran the drow elf and Jabra the odd Halfling whom I had already met, there was the person who organized the trip, Sallaron Tempest, aswell as another named Andre. We set off on our way pretty much immediately, I feared if I had gotten there any later they would have left already, we went on our way, towards Fort Llast, we happened to spy another group of adventurers who had set up camp just off the road to Fort Llast, they weren't to pleased to see us, we had little choice but to fight back, a group of dwarves and halflings we were fighting against, rather odd to see the two races together. I almost feel sorry for them, there was no need for fighting, and they seemed to attack us unprovoked, perhaps they were bandits. Well, we continued on our way, and after a quick stop at Fort Llast, we decided to head south, towards Port Hampshire, where we would catch a boat to Point Harbour, then head east to Fort Himlad, there were rather large birds on that road though, Griffons I believe, all five in our group fell, two of the group managed to find the strength to get back up and flee, but myself and the other two (Cymeran and Sallaron) did not fare so well, and we found ourselves back in Hlint. Having already experienced this feeling before, I felt slightly more aware than the previous time, but I still felt horrible. Suddenly I found myself back at the spot where I perished, standing with the rest of our group, there also happened to be an elf by the name of Ashiel who had also found herself south of Fort Llast rather than in Hlint. As I kneeled awt the spot where I perished, I suddenly felt everything coming back to me, my strength, my awareness and all the rest of it. As I stood up, I spied a rather suspicious looking cloaked figure, Jabra, the halfling turned everyones attention towards him, as we pondered what had brought us here. He summoned us on accident, apparently trying to summon the dead, he had a yellow box taken off him by a group of bugbears, one of sentimental value to him, although he was very adamant that we shouldn't open it. We agreed to look for it, and the man disappeared in a shroud of darkness, a dwarf named Ketilbjorn saw him disappear and joined with us in searching for this box. We probably would not have been able to find it were it not for the halfling, Jabra, I believe he is a druid, as he was quite comfortable in the wild, and found the tracks easily, not to mention he was able to communicate with a cougar nearby, meaning we were able to pinpoint the location of the bugbears. He was not, however, too good at communicating with bugbears, he approached them with his hand in the air, and they proceeded to hit him. Luckily the bugbears were not too difficult to take care of, and we soon found the yellow box the cloaked stranger was after. As we neared the area where we first encountered the man, we were faced with the question of the what the man's intentions were and whether we should check the contents of the yellow box. We had a vote on it, and it was decided that we should not open it, although only after an extremely long time, and many questions with the man. Rather embarassing acutally, I had been against leaving the box closed, as I questioned his intentions, and the contents of the box, especially due to the fact that he was rather shady looking and had been trying to summon the dead, so it turned out that the box contained a childhood momento... a teddy bear... to be exact, I felt rather foolish with my initial doubts... the man's name turned out to be Ikol, he was a necromancer from Bone Hill, which, if my memory serves me correctly, he said was in southern Mistone.

After finding the teddy bear for Ikol, the necromancer of bone hill
,
we intended on continuing towards Port Hampshire, and then on to Fort Himlad, Jabra, Ashiel and Ketilbjorn did not join us though, instead going their own ways, so myself, Sallaron, Andre and Cymeran went by ourselves, we ran into a wemic, named Zijeo, and he joined with us, I haven't ever met a wemic, and I must say, it was quite interesting to travel with him. We arrived at Port Hampshire, sorted out our travelling papers with the dock master, and got on a boat to Point Harbour. Andre decided to stay in Port Hampshire for a while, so myself, Sallaron, Cymeran and Vijeo went east from Point harbour, where we ran into a group of both elves and humans who for some reason attacked us on sight, Vijeo had been scouting ahead and was outnumbered three to one, whilst myelf Sallaron and Cymeran only had to take on two, we went ahead and dispatched of the three that had overcome Vijeo, but it was too late for him, yet like like my incidents with the bears and the griffons, he did not perish, I believe it has something to do with the 'bindstones' scattered around. We continued east, and, whilst we encountered the bears I fell foul of last time I was on Rilara, they did not pose a threat to the four of us. We made it to Fort Himlad and talked to what seemed to be the only resident, Johan, a cow herder, I delivered a letter I had for him, and he asked us to have a look for his sheep, which should have been west of there, at first we didn't see anything, then we spied some bulls and a cow nearby, although the cow wasn't the one Johan was after, after a few minutes of searching we found somehting, but not a cow, a griffon, an extremely large one in fact. We tried to take it on, but most of us were too wounded to continue, so we went back to Fort Himlad to regroup. Once we were ready, we decided to have another go at the griffon, it didn't turn out too well, every fell to the griffon, Sallaron and I managed to get back up and flee back to the confines of Fort Himlad, I do not think it would be wise to try again, and believe it would be best to head back as soon as possible, but I think I shall set up camp here within Fort Himlad for the night.

I have made it back to Point Harbor safely, although I made sure to stay away from the area just west of Fort Himlad, I managed to sneak past a group of elven mercenaries, they seemed to be rather hostile, and I did not want to get on the wrong side of them. I shall go buy some boarding papers for the boat to Port Hampshire, back on Mistone, I had best be quick, I think it is leaving soon.

I made it back to Hlint early this morning, I went north from Port Hampshire, I had closer look at the strange monument there, and managed to decipher some of the words inscribed on it, it seems that the monument is some sort of soul-catcher, which stops you from passing from the world, I imprinted my soul here, and soon after decided to head back to Hlint. I had to go through the Broken Forest... the first time I went through, I was lashed extremely badly by a vine dangling from a tree... it seemed to have a life of its own... I found myself back in Port Hampshire, I believe I must have fallen to the vine-creature. The second time, I took a bit more time preparing for the journey, and stopped of at the inn at Fort Hope, between Port Hampshire and the Broken Forest. I managed to run through the Broken Forest, but found myself being followed by a few animals, some more vine-creatures and what I believe was an ogre, I happened to spy a grave with a rather menacing aura around it when I passed through, I did not stop to look at it, for fear of the creatures following behind me. I managed to make it into Sielwood Forest, and turned around to see if the creatures were still following me, I could not see any, so I decided to rest in a hollow of a nearby tree, and make a few notes in my journal, obviously something was still following me, as the next thing I know I am wandering around Port Hampshire again, very dazed and confused. I have barely any money left for food or a room at the inn in Fort Hope. Again, I tried going through the Forest, I made it further this time, and almost managed to get to the area controlled by the Red Light Goblins. I would have made it too, were it not for a werewolf which had been following me, luckily it did not manage to sink it's teeth into me, that would have been a fate far worse than death. On my fourth trip I managed to make it through the Broken Forest and Sielwood Forest, perhaps because rather than trying to rush through, I instead snuck past when the creatures were not looking, although obviously some of the creatures are rather intelligent, and did happen to score a few hits on me, but did not pursue me, although the few hits they had scored were quite painful ones, and by no means did I make it through unscathed, in fact, by the time I limped into the inn, I felt ready to give up and collapse. I had to use my last few bandages to tend to my wounds, and then I spent two gold pieces on the rent for a room, I am afraid I have only a singular gold piece left now, rather sad I know, but I guess i shall have to do for now...
