Not very nice to do
« on: April 29, 2006, 02:16:11 PM »
To the two of you who decided to rush past our party to get into the Fire Opal cave.....It would have been nicer if you had just stopped and talked rather than cast your buff spells and see how fast you can get into the cave before us. I like the spirit of cooperation most have on this server yet all you cared about was getting to the cave first. *shakes head and walks away* We could have done it together had you stopped for one minute to talk.....

First of all - we did stop.
Second of all - no word from you at all.
Third of all - we thought you might bbe part of the quest people flooding through due to not saying anything.
Fourth of all - we were already basically in that cave before the crash.

Why must you take everything personally. You could've easily followed us and talked to us, no matter whose first. Instead you retreat and smack us on the forums. Great sportsmanship on your side aswell!

I think I have to answer to this one.

We did try to start a conversation and wasn't just "rushing by". My "companion" actually asked "A Race?", but got no response, so I only assumed that you were rushing to the mine with no intention of talking or anything. Later, I was actually quite surprised that you didn't come.

Obviously, I was wrong and thinking about it now, I should have put in a greater effort of talking with you.

I apologize for my mistake and hope that there aren't any bad feelings and that we can find  the way to cooperate the next time.

I really don't consider running up and saying "a race?" much of a converstation starter.  And you also commented "I'll finish buffing inside" just before you ran around the corner to engage.  We where clearly there first. It is this attitude that I came back to Layo to get away from. Being a larger party, it took us a bit longer to get ready.  Since you had dealings with Mikey, I thought I would at least rate a hello, since it was a pretty good deal.  Obviously a mistake on my part.

I wasn't involved in this incident, but I'd just like to say that I have played alongside Fenrir (S0ulZ) many times, and this doesn't strike me as the sort of thing that he would do intentionally/without misunderstanding. Are you sure there wasn't some stupid mistake made here? like somebody speaking in party chat and not realising?

I will post here, since you responded so fast, I was going to edit my last post to add a bit more.

Yes, we were discussing wether to invite you or not. Mikey and Asher have ended up taking quite a few people latelyand likey would have invited you along. The way I saw it, you two came running up, said "a race?" Threw a few buffs and ran on ahead. We decided not to race you to the bottom, cause that is madness and needless risk. Say what you want, you did come from behind us to run ahead.

Do I need to add the comments from IRC where you were bragging that you beat a party of 4 to get fire opal?

Uh oh spaggettioooos.....I mean, even if you did rush by with intention to beat them. It's still rude - but more of the resource will come back remember, just be polite and let the other group go in after. What would be rude is going in for some of the resoruce, coming out to rest then steam back into the cave when a new party just entered into the caves to take the resoruce.

Have we forgot to share? :)

I agree totally with the above totally, and would ask that this argument would please cease at this point.  Before I go into a full on rant that would make even Vyris proud.

Crashes can lead to frustrations and the feeling of lost time which was probably a contributing factor to this. Each of those involved in this affair are all great roleplayers so this seems like a case of miscommunication and frustrations and some assumptions.

I'm not sure all of this needed to be discussed as an open topic though...

These things happen, sorry to those who took offense, but I'd ask you try to work it out privately or move on now.

People going ahead have never stopped any of my characters. And even then, this seems like something to be solved in character rather than the forums. If someone ran ahead of Key they would be hearing about it, and Matilda would of joined them. There are other places with Fire Opal as well too.
Arguments are best kept in character. Atleast, I am more entertained by them IC than OOC.

Pfft! It's Key who's running ahead... Not theother way around!  *grins and pulls Key away from the orb again*

I do apologize if you really got the image that we were trying to beat you to it. I actually thought more that you were on the Pandemonium quest, making your way through the forest. Thus I threw a quick witty remark and rushed into battle. My companion said that she'd save the rest of her spells for later. Nothing about a cave imo.

Later when I saw that Asher followed flew past us towards the cave I understood that you're heading for the cave. We then entered, but no-one followed us. I do feel bad that you got the impression that we were trying to beat you to opals, had you followed us in and talked, Fenrir is always happy to share the resources and help others obtain them.

So I'd write this one off as a consequence of misunderstandings.

EDIT: about the irc chat - we were out due to the crash and we're just talking. I'd imagine that if you were angry about "us beating you to it" then yes you might have been offended. Truth is we were just killing time.
