Characters from other players appearing on profile

I've checked my LORE profile today and the characters Farros Galdor and Rodlin Serim appear on it. I've had in-game weirdness with Farros before, when I could see the messages he received from fighting monsters. Can anyone remove them from there?

That means that the player that is playing Rodlin is playing behind a firewall and on the same port as another player.

...works when the client port does NOT change back. For some reason it changes like it is resetting to a default.

My two sons play and log on at different times. They are 14 and 11. Sending my 11-year-old son falcon messages, PM’s, tells, and being approached by a GM has done nothing but make him frustrated and feel like he has destroyed the world. As much as I like playing with them in game, I cannot. I have established household rules so this does not happen again.

Yes, there was two days that we were trying to find out EXACTLY what has happening so we could help in the troubleshooting. I have sent a PM to Orth on how to fix it. I have not received a reply.

As many screenshots and threads that generated from this you would think the server and the staff has nothing else to do. This is minor and the Layo team has better things to do.

Sorry twidget, I wish I knew the answer, alas I don't know.  This happened to someone else as well... perhaps you can flag the ini file as being unable to be modified?  Is there a way to do that in Windows? I forget...

I know someone else has gone through this problem almost a year ago and I never found out the final results. Sadly I think the player(s) simply gave up out of sheer frustration and found another game to occupy their time. Overall, it's certainly not a Layonara specific problem and definitely has to do with the Bioware client install.

Some thoughts...

*  Have you un-installed the game? wiped all traces of it's installation and then installed fresh?
*  Do you have any addon programs for NwN like chatlog rotators and the like? If so, try uninstalling them.
*  Have you searched the bioware forums for help?
*  Have you contacted Bioware/Atari tech support?

I honest to goodness would love to know a solution to this problem. As I cannot reproduce the issue it's so unbelievably hard to debug and solve.

I can try some of the things that are suggested, but there is a very good chance that more 'ghosts' will appear.

Do the ports get reset in all ini files or just one specific computer?

Ok...I think I got it. Two of us were IG with no problems. I think what was happening was when the program is running and the file is open, it resets. When we look at file, it is good to go but once we close it, it resets. The next person would log in and at that time, both ports would be the same.

Solution: Program not running when changing the file. Change the ports, save and exit. Then log in. If any part of the program is running and the nwnplayer.ini file is opened, it will reset to 5120 or 5122. Right now one is set at 5118 and the other at 5123.
