*sighs*  maybe I ought to just start posting all my posts in the wording Emwonk would use....

*walks away from the keyboard mumbling to himself something about "Null conduits for Emwonk"*

Being able to build a character that can survive is a skill as a player. Roleplaying because your character is dirt smeared on paper is a skill as a player. Being able to nail 200+ damage criticals with your Half-Orc Scythe-Master is a skill as a player. There really isn't one way to play this game. The attitude that there is, and that your method is better than his, is something that leads to a divided community where people become passive-aggressive.

Something terribly outside of the spirit of the server if you ask me.

I feel that I did not elaborated my point well enough or something...

I don't see how player skill creates elitism.  I have never shunned a character for lack of technical skill.  That would be horribly bad RP.  I have shunned characters who are running around like frenzied berserkers on rampage, trying to get as many kills per minute as possible while not waiting for others that want to RP, but that is a bit different.  I have a lot of confidence in my skill as a player, and when I see people that are new to the game, I work hard to help them learn.

I get a great enjoyment from challenging encounters.  When a group of characters or one character make the encounters too easy, the encounters become boring to me and I am left with the feeling that I am just grinding XP.

That being said, I am not interested in playing a super beast of a character.  I will never feel rewarded by an umber build.  Where as I feel constantly rewarded by the excitement of sound tactics in difficult encounters with good RP dialog of my characters companions.

I do hear that some classes just need as many HP as possible or they will get greased and often will anyways.  That seems fair and reasonable to me.  My point was not about elitism, it was just to encourage players to find a deeper level of enjoyment then just relying on their character build or in this case maximizing HP.

For those who obviously didn't continue to read the thread to it's completion before posting...

To continue to try to hash things up after apologies have been made and a resolution to get past a situation has been made is getting a bit personal, and in my opinion beneath the level of maturity I'd expect of folks here.

Now please, with respect, let's just get back to playing and having fun.  Thank you.

They were just expressing their opinions and asking for clarification, I didn't read anything personal there.  However, key phrases like "obviously didn't continue to read the thread", and "beneath the level of maturity" stand out as the ones in this thread most likely to be taken personally.  Please don't insult the community members or their maturity levels for having dissimilar opinions or discussing something after your own questions have been resolved.
