WHoohoo!  As a Canadian raised in Florida, going to have to do without the Aero bars and the Hostess ketchup potato chips, but I found a tin of Tim Horton's coffee my grandparents sent me to celebrate with.  Now if only Swiss Chalet would come south of the border... love that place! :D

Happy Canada Day, eh?

Just so all you non-Canadians have a good excuse to share in the Canada love today, here are a few things we can thank Canada or Canadians for:

  • Basketball
  • Electric Light Bulb (apparently Henry Woodward invented an electric light bulb in 1874 and sold the patent to Thomas Edison!)
  • Heart pacemakers
  • JAVA
  • Bone Marrow Compatability Test
  • The electron microscope
  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • Lawn sprinklers
  • Plexiglas
  • The walkie talkie
  • Standard time (okay, some of you might not thank us for this, but a Canadian is still to blame!)
  • The telephone
  • The Robertson screw
  • Electric cooking ranges
  • Zippers!

So think about THAT when you do up your pants this morning!

Happy Canada Day!

Don't forget Banting and Best's 1921 University of Toronto discovery of insulin that saved the lives of millions....

 Happy Canada Day !
