I need a composer
« on: August 17, 2008, 12:43:35 pm »
I am currently writing a screenplay for a short film that features a traditional Irish folk song for which I have no melody.  Is there someone out there who might be able to create one, or at least knows where I could possibly track down a recording of the song?  The lyrics are as follows:

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

And just so I am not mis-leading anyone.  When this film gets produced there will be no money involved so I would be asking for any time and/or talent contributed to this endeavor to be a favour.

Thanks in advance, Robin Cunningham

The title is "remembered joy" if I am not mistaken
I will attempt to track a royalty free score for you else I will make you one.

That was amazingly fast, and I am astounded that you knew it so easily.  Thank you  so much.

Found a score, now I remember why I remembered it so easily. One of the weirdest songs I've heard composed wise. I didn't find any music you could use, so I will have to make it for you with the score I found.
