Oh hehe.. This is Final Fantasy III (the NES one) that has been remade for the DS - http://ds.ign.com/articles/746/746066p1.html The one you're playing is actually Final Fantasy VI. Great game, btw. I can't wait for the Gameboy Advance port.

Yeha, but the version in Japan was called Final Fantasy III, and i tend to go by that name since its the crazy US people that make the names diffrent *grins*

Oh I guess I misunderstood you there. The version of Final Fantasy III on the SNES is acutally Final Fantasy VI. Square just changed the name 11 years ago when it was released in the States.

Yes, the one with Locke, Terra, Celes, Edgar, Sabin Setzer, Gau, and all the others. That what I call FF III, but the game got called FF IV in the states due some craziness

Final Fantasy VI (

??VI, Fainaru Fantaji Shikkusu?) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Co., Ltd.. The game was released in 1994 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and focuses on a group of rebels as they seek to overthrow an imperial dictatorship. It was the third game in the Final Fantasy series to be released in North America, following Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy IV. As a result it was marketed under the title "Final Fantasy III" in North America. However the game is in fact the sixth installment in the series, and the "Final Fantasy III" title has caused some confusion among North American gamers. Several other changes were made to the game, as well, due to various content guidelines imposed by Nintendo of America, including censorship of nudity and offensive language.

I'll leave out the roman numerals for the sake of easy understanding goodness. Final Fantasy 1, 4, and 6 were realeased as 1, 2, and 3 respectively in the states. 2, 3, and 5 never made it stateside until being released in packages, like Final Fantasy Chronicles (and edited a little..). Final Fantasy 3 for the DS is a remake of 3.
And, for fans of the series, look forward to a remake of Final Fantasy 5 for the GBA, two FF: Tactics games (one a remake of the PSX FF:T for the PSPand another new one for the DS!),

It's a whole lot better in a language I can understand, and not a poorly translated ROM. What I can't wait for is the new FF: Tactics coming up..

Heh me either. I didn't really like FF Tactics Advance. So I'm hoping that FF Tactics Advance 2 is a bit better.. well mostly harder. The first one is just a cake walk.

Was anyone else shocked that the next Dragon Quest game will be made for the DS? I'm a huge Dragon Quest fan, so naturally I'm exticed for Dragon Quest IX. I just don't know how well the game will actually be since it's going to be 100% real-time.

Final Fantasy 3 on the NES was my absolutely favorite final fantasy EVAR. A close second was FF4. When I played the GBA version of FF4, I was absolutely amazed at how different the little changes they added made the game so much more ... epic.

When I first started FF3, my first thought was, "Oh my god ... it is exactly the same, but more 3d!"

I haven't finished the game (because Portrait of Ruin came out shortly thereafter) but I love the DS version

Oh .... you wanted my friend code? Well ... umm ... see. My router is secures with WPA encryption, rather than WEP encryption, and so my stupid DS can't connect at home.
