Don't wave to the animals
« on: October 06, 2006, 01:17:24 pm »
This has to be one of the funniest things to have happened in-game in a long time:
Klaug, Jennara, Weston, and Gilli were on their way across Rilara when they came across a friendly white stag. Jennara, being the nice, gentle sort, waved to the stag.........who then charged her!! Poor Jennara had no option other than to defend herself. No one touched the corpse for fear of disease.
  I had a good chuckle.

Jennara isn't very happy about that.

It was funny, though.

The animals seem to be turning on the halflings... the weird hiccups always happen where 'docile' animals charge the party, but Acacea has been singled out (at least) three times. When walking around Lake Rillon with Brac'ar, who as always carried his staff, while she was completely unarmed...she was attacked by a white stag. She freaked and ran away and made herself invisible, and the stag left the armed Brac alone.   When walking with two martial types to Spellgard, going through Lake Whatever near Haven, she was attacked by the deer. She went invisible and the others were left alone...  When walking back with the -entire- Angels' Tear party, the deer transitioned with her and attacked again; someone thought it might even be a DM thing but no... nature doesn't seem to care for the unicorn holder for some strange reason :(  Triba the 'Lil Ranger' and stomper of taint in the Broken forest is of course no exception when it comes to creatures of nature rebelling against the children of the earth...   Maybe a wave is a rather rude gesture for deer types. Or they're just leaving behind the ways of the herbivore in the Dark Ages...

*chuckles*

Maybe a halfing got on ones bad side and word has spread. Deer stick together apparently.

Racist deer. Interesting concept.

Isn't it great when druids run up and threaten to kill you because the animals are attacking you on sight?  If it tries to eat you, kill it.  I'm still waiting for some wild-eye psycho on Oprah to show up on those "camper survives bear mauling" segments and shriek "WHAT DID YOU DO TO THAT POOR POOR BEAR?!  IT JUST WANTS FUZZY HUGS AND HONEY KISSES!!!" at the poor mutilated child.

Yeah, as Earl says "That whole 'animals know no evil' talk is trash.  I know my dawg, mah dawg's good.  Met ah couple hellcats in mah day, and more than ah few bears what just kill ye as soon as leave ya be.  Dey know evil alright, and when it rears it's fuzzy lil head despite mah warnings, it comin off."
