Might be nice if we could create our own voiceset to draw on instead of the standards as two characters I'm Rp'ing with a lot of the time have the same laugh at present and it freaks me out. In a similar vein I met another dwarf with my laugh so spent 5 mins just laughing at each other.

I agree with this, and it would definately bring more uniqueness to your character rather than just the plain old Nwn voicesets. As Zoogmuch says, there aren't that many, so you're bound to see someone with the same voiceset at somepoint, which can get on your nerves pretty fast...;)
This could also be good, because I actually hate the one my characters got, so I don't use the 'v' button... ever.

The thing is though, like Lord Cove says, I would be giggling a lot too, and I don't think many could speak without laughing through it. (unless there are actors playing?) Not really a good thing, if you start giggling suddenly in a dark dungeon or something... they'd think your character had lost it. :)

Yes it would be hard to rp with a female that has a male voice. I could never look at Ami the same way!!

But also I don't think everyone wants to hear me tell my kids to quiet down every few seconds. ;)

Well the way Team speak works is that you have to key the mic for it to activate. So you can still giggle and yell at the kids and we would still not know.

I feel the most important thing right now is that you (the team) get things working right and the time it takes is simply that. We (the community) will be here on that Wed Oct 8th when you reopen the servers. For now this is a good break, while we are all having withdraws, we understand.

For now we appreciate the updates and hope some of you are taking this unexpected time off to do other things in life that are needed as well. I miss everyone, hope things work out well and I get to see you all soon.

well, I think Voice would harm the RP a bit... A lot of people would have trouble making their accents right, or in my case, lacking the ability to change my voice to the occasion.

as for typing, It would be great to make talking In game realistic, where your voice carries so far, varying in each character, and have the text become more incoherent the farther you get. (so a smaller characters voice would be softer, and a larger characters would be louder). That way, you could pick up bits of a conversation, and maybe you would hear more from the dwarf than the halfling. And a eavesdropping skill would modify what you hear.

and the shout command would carry a good distance, and not through the whole server. It would be interesting to hear a cry for help, and you have to look for it.

just some thoughts.

Orth, we know the admin team are doing their best to get things up and running, and even just by having the forums its enough to keep my withdrawal symptoms down. :)

Right, I'm going to lock this thread, just because its confusing if it gets bumped any more.

The servers are back up as per my other thread.
