Ok, here is my question. I hope this makes sense.
What is the difference between spells from items and spells from your spellbook?
Example: Camoflauge- From the Cloak of mysteries it says Camoflauge (5)-I think thatis right. Is it better or worse that the spell I get from my char. Cole is 12 Ranger/2 shadowdancer. Does his camoflauge get better as he gains levels? Or does it stay the same? Are there differences in the duration between the 2? What does the (5) actually mean and how does it affect my casting it?
I have come across others like this and have never known ecactly what it all means.

Ok, I have read about this in many places, some info was absorbed and some lost to me. So here goes:
A round is about 6 seconds, a turn has 10 rounds. This question is not about the time of a round or whatnot though. When in combat what rolls are made? Or what is my character and his enemy doing. example-I click on an enemy to attack, First I roll an inititiave check? Say I roll a high number, then I roll an attack roll then a damage roll? this is where I get lost. As you can see I have almost nil pnp experience and I am graphically orientated so I am trying to get a clear picture of what is is happening behind the scenes. What actions are made in a turn by each side?

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her
nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.
"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."
Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his
name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows
the bank manager.
Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.
The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant,
about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.
Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank
manager and disappears into a back office.
She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out
there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to
use this as collateral."
She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

What does it mean when you get a competence bonus? as in the opportunist, +4 competence bonus to Attack Rolls. Or Camouflage, +10 Competence bonus on Hide checks.

When I am looking at mt character info and choose the printable link, it only grabsthe basic info. Would be interesting to be able to print all the info. On a side note, I liked when the skills section on the character info only liseted the skills you invested points into. That is just an opinion though Etin and I can't forget, WOW!!!!

I have a few questions about LORE.
1. Profiles. I am connected via public cd key but if I go to Profile index under "E" only Ed the Ket is listed. Do I need to create a page in the screen under my name to get listed in the Profile Index?
2. If so...Anyone have any tips on formatting? Where can I see a page that is made in this fasion?
3. Can I delete an entry after I create it? In case I don't like the way it looks.
I know there is a preview, but I am curious as to how it is integrated into my profile.
I love this LORE area. Fantastic Job.

So, I am sitting in hlint and I see some archer types shooting fish in the pond. Started to think shouldn't a sea elf be able to spear a fish with his trident? Maybe make a trident specifically for that that sea elves can only use. maybe a bonus for fishing  Vakha wanted to go and show these guys just how to catch a fish. Etinfall

*written in what looks like elvish, in a book that is covered in a slick skin. The skin is rough to the touch though, not as it looks* It has been a month since I left the village. No use staying there, the sharks took their toll. Not one was left. I was too late to heal, to fight, to help. As I watched from the rocks I liked so much, the sharks killed and rampaged on for ever. With the clothes I had on, and the gear I had with me I turned and walked away. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I wish my father, even my brothers were there. Maybe then we could have saved some...or they would be dead too. I have been traveling for so long now. I have come across what used to be two different villages. They were both destroyed. One was One was called Lashae, just a few families there, but Amandil had taken me there more than once. I knew them, now they are with Mother Ocean. The second was larger. Cale'barad. Many lived there. All were gone. Not all of them could have perished. Some must have fled. Another few weeks have gone by. No luck on finding any others. I travel at night. I am moving at a snails pace. If I am to find others I need to be careful. If I can just find where Amandil went to. He left before the final attacks on the village, why did he do that? Why did he think I could help the village? *a list appears next* 1. Amandil leaves after seeing the aftermath of the first attacks. where did he go? 2. Mother, is she alright? Father and the boys? I must make my way there, home. But that is so far. 3. I need to find other sea elves. They are here somewhere, just need to find them. Together we can be strong. So my path is ahead. I will find supplies and start my work. Finding others and let them know Shindaleria hasn't left us.

Is it possible to changes the gm's chat color? When you have 20 people in a group and the gm gives info ot is sometimes hard to see. Maybe make it res or purple. I don't know if it is even something that can be written or if it is a bioware code thing. But I have seen amazing stuff here so I thought of mentioning it.

If you GM's have a quest idea and just can't seem to decide on a time to run it let me help you out. It has been a long time since I was able to go on a quest due to scheduling. The time between 1am and 3am central(11pm pac-1am pac) seems to be empty of quests. Stormspirit comes close but they usually start a little too late, like 3 am to 5am central. Which is understandable being an Aussie and all. Others usually start like an hour befor I get home. I am not saying there are never quests, and I am not complaining. I just happen to fall under the time where not alot happens. And I know you all miss Cole This month I happen to have wed and thursdays off. Thank you Sakura for choosing thems days:) I will see you there. If it would be easier you can check with me before setting the time slots. hehe. Just Kidding. Etinfall the quester

[SIZE=10][SIZE=13]Leaving the only home I ever new had me worried. Worried that I couldn't make it out in the world. I seemed to be doing just fine though, finding odd jobs here and there. Earning just enough to rent a room on most nights. Usually having some sort of shelter, my hopes were rising. Then it happened. I am not even sure what happened, but it did. I awoke in a dream, atleast I thought it was a dream. I do not know how one can wake up in a dream but that is how I can explain it. I was standing with a dragon. I assumed it was a dragon never actually seeing one before this. Oddly enough the dragon spoke... to me. I have been chosen to help the world of layonara. Help it fight the evil forces of a man named Blood... Man? not sure really. This dragon thinks me a hero, ha! Me? a hero? had to be a mistake. But the beast assures me I am here for a reason. Eventually he had me believing the hype and I willingly accepted the challenge. [/SIZE] [SIZE=13]Flash!!! I am on a road. Alone, walking. In this last crash I lost my "sense of direction". Can a gm help? I was in east hlint when it happened, but now I can't find east Hlint. When the crash happened, I had my brain open. Maybe thats why it went away. I still have my "sense of decency", and my "sense of whats right and wrong" is still there. Just that dang "sense of direction". I am a little upset cause it took me a long time to get it, and I am hoping not to have to go through that again.

as Cole tries desperately to get inside the house, he can't help but think he failed again. The damned healer of Prunella would not even listen to his pleas for help. Not even after he lays down all the gold he has on him. There will be no healer for Lara. She is poisoned...Bidwick is inside with her. Probably to stricken with grief to hear Cole pounding on the doors and windows.

the drow, it has to be them. And the rest of them think the assassins are goody now. Ha! Cole drops by the waters edge in exhaustion. And realizes it has happened again...

How about having some sort of pass book for papers to board ships. Like 10 per book. or something. then we wouldnt have to remember to buy all the time. and if you buy the book it cost a little less like instead on 192 per paper it is 182. just an Idea Etin
