LORE Ideas, Suggestions and Requests / Re: Playing Kenku
« on: May 10, 2006, 12:19:08 pm »
As I'm not much into powergaming, I rather not see the Genasi as a player character.

I'm not too sure if the Kenku have cool powers. I don't believe so...not that I have a book on the race.

Cronk, ya given way stuff be getten on me nerves. How's a dwarf ta overprice when ya be given stuffs away fer free? Best watch it or da dwarf guild be fer chasen ya outta town. Course, ya could be fer given yer stuff away ta us dwarves. Ain't charity, as we bein sure it goin ta a noice payen customer.

I've sold copper armor for a pretty good price. Especially after players see the price the general store wants for a suit of the stuff. Besides, copper armor is better than Bronze: 80% less weight vs. 5% against bashing which means for every 20pnts you take 19pnts (if it's bashing). I'd rather have light armor, especially since my Strength isn't that great.

May be true but Orcs, goblins, and drow aren't typically good either. I see lots of those played.

You mean to tell me that nobody wants to play a Kenku? Darnit, my plan of making a white haired Kenku dressed all in white that fights his black haired Kenku dressed all in black, archnemesis, is quashed. Arrrrgh!

Don't take me too serious, I just came off an 18hr work day...I'm giddy (or "MAD").

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / RE: Vampires
« on: May 04, 2006, 11:26:20 pm »
On Haunted Halls they had vampire characters and being my (tool of a) friend created that site the vampires were quite interesting.

1st) Only a vampire character sire another character as a vampire. Then as a vampire you could always see you're vampiric heritage (which was cool). A character, after being beaten by the vampire, had to agree to want to become a vampire, so it wasn't forced on people.

2nd) The character, after beating somebody, could fill up viles with blood from the defeated, for which, I suppose would be similar to how you have to drink on Layonara, worked.

3rd) A vampire, though getting a great skin and nice powers, had a few drawbacks. 1) if they died, they'd become a ghost (like those spectre down near the forest by Velensk), and though they could fly fast, they had to get back to their crypt (which hopefully they hid well) within so many hours or die permanently. 2) The sun would permanently kill a vampire, so you had to watch the clock religiously. So, though you got great powers and were really powerful (pluses to Str and Con and Cha), the drawback was permanent death (thus, not a whole lot of people wanted to become vampires).

4) Some of the powers where the different forms a vampire could take (including mist, which was interesting), different charming spells, and the ability to other undead. Of course, his evil clerics could do that too, with Turn Undead, which was awesome.

He also had a neat lycanthrope script, that whenever you were attacked by a bite, you had to make a Fort Save or become a Werewolf during the next full-moon. Of course, there were things that could offset become a Werewolf like a remove curse and cures disease (needing both), or you could try belledona but that stuff was poisonous and didn't always work. The neat thing about his werewolves were that you couldn't control them (you're own character when being a werewolf) until you actually tried to control them (there was a item you tagged to do this). However, once you took control, you were permanently a werewolf (no more attempts at a cure for you).

It was pretty cool, but I don't know why a world really needs it unless they're okay with PC vs PC combat...because vampires (or werewolves) should definitely be battled when discovered.

I was about to post this same thing...somebody was trying to sell this stuff to me but I didn't think it was ligit so I thought I'd better ask (he wanted to sell me +4 armor craft ring).

Being I use to live in the Goblin Cave, I was thinking, "I've never found anything in there besides gold, mostly."

I don't have time for fact finding everything (or even some things), that's why I post on a Forum (then somebody who knows can state fact...if they choose). I work two job for 68 to 72+ hours a week...sheesh (though there was an article at work that stated similar [oh, and it did have a website for telling your congressman to vote no towards the bill]...so what's a guy to believe? Especially now a day when my specialist will say one thing and your specialist will denounce my specialists as kooks? That's a generalized example, btw.)

Now, do I have to put little smiley faces by everything and second guess everything? I wasn't trying to make a case about terrorism except for using the root of the word and saying, "now that can strike fear into computer nerds/users...like myself." It's not like I put a grumpy face by it. Though, realistically, half the junk congress does scars the bejesus out of any number of people anyway. I can't help if somebody wants to take it personal, I just post an hope I ain't bugging the tar out of too many people.  :p

Hmmm, neeeeeed toooo staaaaay oooon tooopic > MMORPGs are bad. *as done in Mr Garison's voice* (if you're not laughing, there is really something wrong with you )  ;)

Replying to Orth's facts

See, this is why Divine Relations is a needed thing and why knowing somebodies' faith is necessary for Clerics. Not like they want to raise peeps who aren't cool with their own god.

BTW: what is it for those that Allies or Friendly towards your God/dess? I just can't seem to find anything when looking this info up.

Addendum: Well, not so true, I can find them, just that somebody stated the description was in error.

Then I would say that nobody has stayed on topic (well, except Nyrolotep, but that was later....doesn't count  ---heeh)...except that it is under General Discussion.

Nobody stated if they've played or what server they were on. As well, there is the disclaimer that this topic should be deleted...which seems to open it up to General Discussions or comments. IMO.

General Discussion / RE: PrC Development
« on: April 28, 2006, 11:03:04 am »
I'm guessing what makes him tick.

What makes him want to become a weapon master....growing experiences, etc.

Best I can think of is from my own view of my character that wanted to respect the Dwarven Defenders for past actions but is slowly realizing he can honor them and all dwarves just by becoming a battlepriest  and help them in that aspect. I haven't done any Character Development thread either, but then I figure, when I'm about ready for the change into one PrC, I'll have more examples as to how my character has changed his view. I figure, you may want to wait till that time after doing lots of RPing and getting the nature of your character down.
