Yeah, I considered that, but had to weigh the likelihood of Gunther surviving to 32nd level to get enough points to get to 21. Thanks for thinking about it.
While the additional hit points would be nice, I think I'll just throw the points into strength and terrifying rage. I'm curious to see what terrifying rage actually does.

There were a bunch of high level nasty critters that Gunther dragged in front of the mithril. If a DM could remove them all, I'd appreciate it.
Oh, and port Gunther there and back.
And maybe help with the mining....

In all fairness, though not a world leader, Gunther has been around for a long time and has been on dozens, if not scores of quests. Every one of them, he was a force for good. He has also associated with and been on quests with a large majority of notable World Leaders. I dont think I could even name them all, to be honest.
Would it be out of the question that he be the exception to the rule? He was working in Hempstead, for example, smithing for years before any rules about no halfgiants. Its pretty much how he got to his current level of smithing.
Now that I think on it some more, Gunther is also pretty recognizable. Even if here stopped by the guards trying to enter a town, any of them that have been guards for long would probably remember Gunther and usually as a halfgiant that helped their town somehow. It may not be sufficient to gain entry to a town, but I'd think it reasonable that the guards would at least call someone in authority who could make that call.

Having fought in the battle against the mist folk and the hours long fight against the dragon, Gunther watches the promotion and award ceremonies.
Sitting to the side, Gunther grumbles, 'Who was da first one to charge dat dragon. When it came out of da mist and attacked dose soldiers, everyone stood back, cept for Gunther. Now peoples get medals and promotions and ceremonies. Ceptin fer Gunther. Gunther not even get paid. Paid would be nice. Gunther not need no medals.'
Continually grumbling to himself, Gunther proceeds to scour his armor of any defects and rust spots.

I hope it wasnt Gunther dragging critters. I'll oftentimes stop and wait for a second or two before transitioning but sometimes I get in a hurry and dont think about it. I was running around Mistone the last few days.

Just out of curiosity, would the bird form be able to carry a coconut during its transcontinental flight? Would it carry said coconut by the husk? Would it possibly take two birds to successfully carry the coconut? And finally, what would be the wing speed ratio of an unladen swallow?

Gunther vanishes for years at a time. I think his record so far is 9 IG years. He just gets lost a lot. He's not too bright and just wanders off occasionally. Curiously, between his incurable athletes foot, distrust of bathing and all other hygiene related rituals, not too many people form lasting relationships with Gunther. Sad, really.
