why are you waving that sword at me sir?

Sakura:
The torch thing is cool with me. I don't have any characters that can't see in the dark so I wouldn't know.. but I think it is really good RP. :)( plus you do fire damage to the mosters that run into town!)

The weapon thing is a understanding unless it is a VERY big object then it is ok.. sort of.

None of my characters run around in armor in town, however the outfits they wear LOOK like armor but isn't. This is true with people that Custom their outfits to look like really cool armor.. but its only hide.. or something really light, for those times when there is an attack IN town.

I make it a point to have something on me that can protect me... I have had monsters trained on me and I was not happy with what happend. I did not die.. no one helped me defeat the moster that SOMEONE eles brought into town. On top of that they thought I had brought them into town... it was that person that I saw running from them in the first place.

So RP wise no armor, no weapons leave them in your packs. ;) have them all on quick bar just for safty reasons.

Tolkien Guru:
It's really sort of difficult to sheathe a morningstar, but even I RP that I am slipping it into a "holding sling" from which I can retrieve it if necessary.

As to weraing armor in town, I think it depends on what sort of warrior your character is. There are many sorts of warriors tha prefer to stay adorned in armor just to be ready at all times. I tend not to be one of them, but I can see the easy argument for it.

It's all the people who run around town weraing helmets that gets me. I swear there are some people that I see that are so attached to their helmets that they even sleep in them. How do you have a polite face-to-face conversation with someone whose face you've never seen?

That's just my .02 cents.

Guardian 452:
Certain people simply don't want their faces shown. Perhaps they are horribly disfugured, or they are hiding from persecution.... Two people come to mind... Terril Windbane, and Brac'ar Fireface. I have played with Brac for probably a year now and I have yet to see his face.

**EDIT** with that said I still thing too many people leave their helmets on for really no reason.

Also it's kind of an RP pet peave of mine....when they emote smiling, or frowning, or pouting.....etc, with a helmet on.

Thunder Pants:
heh personaly i never have the problem with the helmit thing, as they are so ugly as the uglyness overrides any usefull perpose they could serve, lue never wears any helm long then she needs to, and i don't think i've put a helm on Syclya yet heh

ZeroVega:
Slightly off topic but close enough. I've seen probably 2 dozen character sleep in the nude. Not exactly the thing you want to see of a dwarven fighter. ;) Clothes cost 1 GP at the vendors in Hlint. Just pick up a little out fit to sleep in. Please. I'd hate to have my new character lose his eyes too. :)
