A Shadow looms, the Night beckons...
« on: November 05, 2009, 02:49:27 pm »
In the seedier parts of Mistone, word begins to spread among cut throats, brutes, and thieves that someone is looking for help.  It's not clear what is required, but they all agree they have seen someone, masked, dressed in black leather sneaking around Fort Vehl and Leringard, often frequenting the more prominent taverns.  The few who have seen this person coming, are few, and even fewer have seen it leave.

Some say this "shadow" speaks to questionable characters about goings on in the local areas, but the most recent rumor has to do with a Co'rys noble and a piece of land, though the intention behind the inquiries is never mentioned.  It is clear though the individual is searching for those willing to assist without asking too many questions, and promises worthy reward to those choosen.

Strangely, very rarely is any mention made of how to contact said "shadow" should they have something to offer...  but somehow most get the unnerving feeling that when they aren't looking, someone is watching them, and that the Shadow will know who to confront next with it's proposition...

Perhaps it's you?

//Just a side note...  Should anyone be interested, leave a sign.  This will be the begins of a clandestine guild, should thinks work out.

Recently back in Vehl, and in a foul mood after having been enslaved as a gladiator for several months, Rottie the Ogre is hanging around the area, working out his frustrations by killing "things that need killing" with his beloved sword "Freedom".      Skins of Yeti litter the roads, where he has cast them off on the way to the mountains.

Gone is the religious Az'attan constantly worried about violence, and a harder, more disillusioned creature is revealed.   He doesn't ever threaten anybody, but seems to no longer care that she scares people.   Only to his friends is he the same old Rottie.  To all others, he does not go out of his way to reassure them that he means no harm.

What the Shadow sees, or not, is up to it.   But that is Rottie, for the moment.

*Tod hears of the "shadow" while he is in Vehl, and he eventually waves to Tyra as he approaches her on one of her stalking trips and states that he wouldn't mind helping. Naturally, he questions what's going on.*

// Just a note about making too many assumptions about one's ability to move with impunity around Vehl organizing freelance thieves and the like. There is an active player's guild already in Vehl and the machinations of the underworld of this city has been the subject of quite recent CDQs and WLDQs.

PS. I encourage your efforts and hope it's the start of something beautiful.

PPS. By beautiful I, of course, mean dastardly and threatening. //
