The Lady that came out of the water wasn't a nymph she was a devil. She managed to kill at but three cultists by summoning devils even though she said she'd let us all out. she said she wouldn't let us tamper with or destroy the alter. And that she's near immortal.

She must be vanquished.

As for the alter: My thought is that its either substaining her power, or holding it. It may need to be destroyed if the devil herself prooves impossible. However there may be a large chance that what she said is true and that destroying the alter would take our life.

At this point there are many things that are unclear and many consquences that could come of acting rashly. We need time to study, and we need people to distract the devil while we look at that altar. The Altar has to go, as I have reason to believe that it is somehow the source of , or atleast adding to her power. She seemed rather protective of it.
