Can you actually die of thirst?
« on: July 03, 2006, 11:23:58 pm »
I was wondering.  I have seen quite a few ominus messages when I got really thirsty.  I saw one today that said "Someone help, you're dying of thirst"  That was my limit.  I won't push it past the "d" word but I was wondering if it was actually possible.  I am curious but not willing to risk an actual death to see what happens.  Thanks.

If that were the case I think Mith would have after his crypt escapade.... ;) I've went a long time afk and never did so unless something has changed I don't think so.

You can't die, but the penalties are cumulative.

The first time you get a "You need to drink" message (one that acctually gives the penalties) you get -1 saves (or -1 attack and damage for hunger.) The next time you get a message if you haven't eaten or drank anything you get another -1, bringing it to -2 and so on.

I know one time lal was at -4 saves because of not drinking hehe

I guess that's why Myrrha keeps getting penalties... and I thought it was a bug since she "possesses" her familiar Mahood a lot to talk through him. Not a bug, then, but from forgetting to drink water while I'm RPing Mahood for a long long time. :P
