I'm very happy with Tell Tale Games' latest installments of the Sam & Max series.  Proof positive that point-and-click adventure games never lost interest, just that the industry's been asleep at the wheel since 1993. :D

I still from time to time load up some good old Day of the Tentacle, Sam n Max or King's Quest.  Or even Zork.  With a good enough story, the graphics just load in their head.  I think they also released a new copy of Gobliiins.

How could anyone forget?  I still have an ancient NES cartridge that has the hamster microwaving function intact! :D

Hah, yeh a new Maniac Mansion would be schweet too :D With more Hamsters!

I agree Ionarin, Point-and-Click Adventures been asleep for a while but are making quite a strong comeback. Telltale is a pretty awesome Indie Company. Got me Those Sam&Max too.

Then there a new cool point-and-click ye need to checkout once its released in the states is the book of unwritten tales:

The Book of Unwritten Tales

and after that

Maniac Mansion Deluxe is a nice port to current windows of the old classic.
Maniac Mansion Deluxe - AGS Games Database

This group did remakes of Kings Quest I & II as well.
AGDInteractive Studio

In Hollywood remake=bomb.  In point and click graphical adventures, they are a sweet breath of nostalgia with minty graphics!

Oh yeah, and do check out Sam & Max's remakes.  They have me spewing beer from my nose.

Let's do a call out to all the nifty Point and Click adventures that have blown our minds over the years...

-Kings, Space & Police Quest
-Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle
- Monkey Island
-Leisure Suit Larry (up until the last bomb)
-The Longest Journey
-Return to Zork
-Shadowgate! (you punch yourself, BAM you see stars!)
-Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom (WOOT! Sir Cucumber!)
-Mystery House
-Sierra's The Black Cauldron
-Myst Series (point click point click... am I winning yet?)
-Broken Sword
-Simon the Sorcerer
-GOBLIIINS! (WHOOOO!  The story of Grovel, Nonac and Mangle!)
-Under a Killing Moon (wish I could find this one again! So bloody Shadowrunesque Sci Fi)
-Peasant's Quest! (Homestar Runner spoof of King's Quest)
Peasant's Quest

Please add more I missed.  I play at least one a week through DosBox as it is!

From the creators of Leisure Suit Larry, there was Freddy Pharkas, Frontier Pharmacist - tremendous fun.

Also, using Monkey Island's LUA engine, there was Grim Fandango.

For my money, though, Day of the Tentacle reigns above them all.

WOWZERS!  Hey Leanthar!  You never told us about how you helped create those big name games!  That's like half my childhood!  So were you a coder or a writer or a tester for Sierra?  How long?  Tell us about this awesome background in gaming history we just uncovered!

You ever meet up with the game celebs like Roberta Williams or Al Lowe?
