Welcome to the organization of Rogues Against Skunk Violence.

Skunks prevented me from getting sand at that lake with Key until I got knockdown. I can attest that they're tough buggers in real life too. It took three shots from a police officer to take down a rabid one in my backyard.

I'm holding her for ransom.

You can have her back if I get IDii's NWN login information.

If not well... something undesirable might occur.

I wouldn't be surprised if Majestic Studios "died" (so to say).

Or was sued into oblivion.

What kills me about MMOs is that they're MMOs. I get you man, eventually you just find that while you had a great time here, it's just not as fun as it used to be. And when you look at another game of the same type, you see that it's impossible to get as involved in it as you did here, and you kind of give up hope.

At least I did.

Though I can safely say that of the twenty something characters I've played here in the four or so years I've put into this game, none of them made it past level 19! That's got to be something...

Really lame.

Granted Oblivion was pretty lame too. If they can't make their own graphics I can't imagine the voice acting or dialog could be any better. I hope they get sued!

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Re: Poison Dex check

Personally having played an assasin on layo, the only redeeming feature of the class is the fact that I can use the poison I make with no chance of failure in application.

Its the one thing that sets an assasin aside from an ordinary rogue as far as I am concerned. So, rogues spend their time in larceny and skullduggery but not specifically learning to master the use of poison. Creation of poisons is not really a terribly difficult task but the care and application of such is highly specialised, hence here is where the assasin comes in. A Rogue class that has spent time and care developing the skills required to not only make but to work specifically with poisons.

If ordinary rogue classes, or any class for that matter had a good chance of using poison then I might as well kiss my character goodbye because its the only thing in my mind (apart from RP reasons) that gives you any incentive to make one!

Except for the impressive ability to paralyze your targets with Death Attack. Obviously it takes time to develop, and the expense of carrying intelligence boosting items can be substantial, but it is a very useful ability.

Unfortunately, while increasing the DC and duration are easy, "poisoning a weapon" is built into the game by Bioware, so drastically changing the mechanics would be non-trivial.

I hope for the sake of bioware's
(or is it obsidian now?) continued NWN fan base that NWN2 is not so criminally obtuse on the system side of things.

51
It's my personal belief that doubling the DC and removing the duration, but making poison a one-hit enhancement would effectively counter the utter uselessness while keeping the system balanced.

52
I think a more streamlined and accessible guide to character submissions, contained within a simple post and not scattered over several stickies, would ease the pain on the entire process.

An audience of people who this kind of situation is engineered for is not the best potentially vicious and blood thirsty mob you want to upset as you crushed the poor little things heart on national television.

Getting torn to pieces on national television by thousands of American drones has to be the worst way to die ever.

CNR Suggestions/Discussion / Re: Sand Splitter please!
« on: July 18, 2008, 12:52:10 am »
Any crafting system in any game that forces extra steps is detracting away from the fun of crafting in general. It doesn't need to be an overly deep or complicated system when it's the user doing the work via his/her mouse, and not the character.

The key to success in item management (which is a huge part of CNR) is streamlining the process. This would take very little code, when really all the code would need to do is check if it's a bag of sand, check how many "pinches" are left, then create the pinches and destroy the bag.

Im sure there will be something epic in the future near the MMOs release, or at least when the MMO goes live.
