Hunted Shadow Dancers

While travelling through Haven toward Spellguard Kalin and I encountered a group of Shadow dancers in a caravan.  They were about some business known only to them but then all of a sudden they seemed afraid and vanished.  Then just a few moments later we found two of them with their throats slit and another ran out of the shadows screaming about the shadow realm not being safe.  We tracked down all but one of the shadow dancers and found their bodies.  At least one had been hunted by some sort of Slaad that spoke of a master being pleased with him eliminating the shadow dancers.  They were all carrying cut greenstones and the last one had a map of some sort, probably of some underground area.  One of them remains at large.  We also found a small silver bowl of some sort on one of them that I have no idea what its purpose is.  If anyone has any information that might shed some light on these shadows as it were, please contact me.

The Slaad that was hunting the shadow dancers was eliminated by Kalin.  It stated that there were only three more to go and that it's master would be pleased.  The others were obviously killed even though this Slaad was eliminated.  That suggests there are others hunting these shadow dancers that we didn't find.

*wren stops by to check the note again, just as Clarissa was finishing. He waits for her to finish writing.* Hello Clarissa, it is good to see you again *he smiles* if I couls ask you a question... Can you tell me what color the slaad was?

*frowns as he reads this then pens a reply to wren*

Tell me all you can.. anything that hurts her....

*mumbles darkly and takes off*

Wren, the slaad was black.  I believe it was a death slaad but more than the average death slaad.  This one talked.

Slaadi have the ability to talk, and slaad change color as their power. Red denotes a weak slaad, then blue, green, grey , death, white and finally black. What you say seems to contradict. Either way we have a quite powerful to extremely powerful Slaad.

Hmm..  I am not sure what the difference in color between a death slaad and a black slaad is.  They are not my area of expertise but the death slaad that Kalin summons was the same variety although a bit weaker than the one we killed.  Kalin said it was a death slaad.  That's all I know.

*was about to walk away, but pauses taking out some wax and a ring. Heats up a glob of wax, pressing his ring into it. It shows a hawk in flight, with a sword in one claw, a flask in the other*

Unconfirmed reports suggest a Slaad was spotted in Fort Vehl, and emerged carrying something rather large. One of the gate guards is reputed to have been killed. Officials deny such an event could have occurred, and blame the whole matter on Dwarven Ale.
