are seen circling over the building housing the jail in hempstead while squirrels,  and various colored cats are seen near a certain window each day meowing and squeaking inside to its occupant .
passersby looking in the window have seen a black cat, a bird and a snake all reclining in the sunshine at various times of day, while those who pass by at night hear a loud purring through the shuttered bars.

see even dragons dont like druids in jail, perhaps humans should hurry with there trial

: a small litter of black cats is seen entering the window through the bars and curling up with another sitting on the inside:

Citing public health concerns, the Port Hempstead authority has recently hired sharpshooters and trappers to deal with the problem with excessive bird and animal waste in the vicinity of the jail. The city is paying 50 True per head for each animal removed from the premises by these agents. Any animals taken alive are being tagged and released far outside the city's boundaries in an attempt to prevent the unscrupulous from receiving rewards for the same creature twice.

*Seeing the post Rain leaves a message*

Instead of hiring supposed wannabes. Find a ranger like myself who may be willing to communicate with the animals and lead them where they would be safer. I am concerned that the sharpshooters might try to kill them if they get exasperated.

*A note is attached to Rain's message*

You may go about the task of removing the animal infestation by whatever means you find appropriate.  Please register at the Office of Animal Control in the Municipal District to ensure you are properly compensated.  Please be prepared to provide proof of your progress.

Thank you.

A dwarf in full armor and helm can be seen tossing small darts, knives, and axes at the various animals outside the bars... Though he doesn't seem to be interested in any reward, satisfied to kill anything that comes too close to the bars.

//For clarity: Stonehelm never threw AT the bars, nor through them. Just at things outside. From the side, so as not to accidentally kill anything inside.

growls and hissing comes from the inside of the bars as axes , knives and darts clang off the bars, the black cat arched and tail puffed up dodging during his sunning hours

To prevent any harm being done to the accused before his trial, several officers of the Silverguard are seen putting heavy iron shutters over the windows, and locking them in place.  The shutters are perforated, to allow a modicum of sunlight to filter through... but now not even a dart could slip through the window.

*A letter is sent to Legodia*

Greetings, High Druid.

I regret that this is not a happy letter to say hello, or a request for a blessing for my new puppy friend.  It is, instead, a request for an investigation to aid many animals near Port Hempstead.

Though I am not of nature, I do care deeply for it, and it is easy to see that the animals congregating near the prison are behaving in unnatural ways.  It is as if they are being manipulated to abandon the Balance and busy themselves with the concerns of the city and its laws, about which they must certainly know nothing and care less.  Surely this is unhealthy for them.

To make matters worse, the gathering animals have been determined by officials to be a menace, and the city has begun contracting hunters and trappers to reduce or eliminate their presence.  I do not believe there are any restrictions on the methods allowed by the contracts.  While many hunters and trappers understand that their livelihood will disappear should too many animals be lost, the fifty True offer per animal will surely bring out many who care more for heavy pockets than the well-being of the world.

For the good of the animals and all of nature in the area, I would determine the cause of the imbalance and stop it were I able.  I know little of how to determine such things, though, and defer to your greater ability and judgment to see these animals safely returned to the Balance, and the Balance safely  returned to them.

Thank you for your efforts.  Perhaps some day there will be a greater understanding between the cities and the wild places.

upon the fastening of the shutters even though perforated, a sad meowing begins from within, and no more animals are seen to come near the window save a sole squirrel each morning with a nut which is left on the outer sill edge

Never having tried to strike the beast within the bars, the dwarf lets out a cheer as the shutters are put in place... And does his best to kill each and every squirrel that stops by.

The nut, he grinds beneath his heel.

*Rain is seen coming and going taking the animal out and releasing them after a few minutes of petting and speaking with them after making sure they understood not to come back. He keeps doing that as long as he needs to not going for the reward. When he sees the dwarf throwing his things he decides to go by him*

Mate, keep at this and you beard will be so singed that you will be taken for a human child.

*not even waiting for a reply he goes back to returning the animals in nature*

The dwarf simply laughs, muttering in good humor to himself about the animals no longer coming by, and heads off to buy a good, stiff drink.

He comes back after about an hour, though, sitting at a small fountain not too far away, and reads through a large book bearing an axe on the cover, helm and armor, as always, still on.

While there is currently no need to fling his darts at annoying vermin in the city streets, said vermin no longer being present, he does keep a watchful eye on the shuttered window as he reads.

Travie wonders up to the guards shaking his head sadly. A few words pass between them and coins exchange hands. "Thank you" he says passing a cupfull of fresh wild berries and a flask of clear spring water to them before departing.
Late into the night voices can be heard outside the bars,

"I don't know anything I swear", another voice low and cold replies, "We know you have information about the Artifact, Wing can always grow another feather".

*you can hear the sound of a man gasping for air as if being choked, then in a weak plea you hear the first man talk again*

Ok, ok I'll tell you, I will *clearing his throat* I don't know much just that James has a man working with him; he's good I can't follow him. *coughs* I don't know anything about him, last place I seen him was in Fort Wayfare. He was with some people, some people I don't know one was wrapped in a cloak, short guy hid his face well had a strange looking bowl he ate out of. The others I don't know anything about but  they was real interested in the little guy, overheard one talking about finding a map then they went outside and that's the last I seen of them.

*hastily assuring him that he knew nothing more, the other man replies in his low cold voice* Interesting, *pausing for a moment, then in a slow and unforgiving tone threatens,* If you hide anything from us you will be plucked from the Wing, The Midnight's Raven owns you.

*after a moment of silence you hear someone kicking over a crate and cussing,*

"Bloody Organization trying to shake me down with a Shadow, I knows what I know and nothing more".

*footsteps are heard as he half stumbles off into the night*
