The Shining Hand: Abducted?
« on: August 24, 2008, 09:43:04 pm »

Those close to the Toranite church may hear that the Shining Hand himself, Quantum Windword, has gone missing near Fort Llast.  Some reports by bystanders suggest he has been taken by undead.  The only evidence remaining behind is a pair of Shining Gauntlets, an exclusive item owned by the Shining Hand.

Many Toranites in the Order of the Undead Hunters report to the temple at Huangjin for a meeting of the 3 Gauntlets.  Gilbert Gallant, leader of the second gauntlet, along with his close second in command, Anne Ravenwind, are the first to arrive and begin to press for an interim Shining Hand to be appointed in Quantum's unexplained absence.

*A group of scallywags and ruffians who otherwise use the epithet "adventurer" were seen outside Fort Llast discussing the disappearance. They were last seen leaving for the site of the abduction.*

Lex'or coming in the fort Llast temple as usual for his teachings with Quantum, hears of the news and leaves immediately to the site where he was supposedly abducted.

*Chaynce wakes after the evening of debating what happened to Q, packs his things and heads to a portal, he sends a letter first to Lance Stargazer explaining his actions, and goes to stand in front of the Toranite Temple in Huanjin in full armor, and waits for HER*

*Chaynce walks into Huanjin with a fresh hand print on the left side of his face and a smile on the other and vanishes in the crowd, walking to the nearest Inn and not the docks*

A young woman paladin was seen entering the city of Huangjin and headed to the Citadel.  After many hours she was seen returning to the city, looking for someone.

A knight clad in blue armor is seen arriving to the city in a white steed, with a worried look the man rides to the entrace of the Holy citadel of the great leader as he looks over the the crowd like searching for someone.

Later the same knight is seen speaking with another young woman at the entrace of the citadel, they speak for hours after some hours they split and head out for the city.

The knight is seen mounting guard at the entrace of the temple for hours waiting for someone to present himself.

A Halfling man in a blue trench coat arrives in the Huangjin to tell what he saw.  He searches for the Toranites in the meeting and he says he is not a follower, close but not converted, and that he is a witness.

A brief declaration by the Temple at Toran indicating the Undead slayers had been active in the Hammerhead Mts pursuing clues to the dissappearance of Quantum Windward did little to fully explain the rumours currently circulating. An impromptu paladin led group ran headlong and bravely into trouble high in the Mountains at a Giant fort. Some members of their group recovered related Toranite items nearby which were returned to the Temple at llast. Cal, acting Hand deliberated over action while acting Gauntlet Theodosia Varamost made a broad interpretation of his duties and led a mixed crew supported by Mountain Militia and a Ranger Company from Fort Llast into the mountains in a quick but efficient sweep for Quantum. No further clues were recovered and the matter is back with cal who is deliberating over the current position.

Two fallen Toranite slayers were found in the Dragon Isles. They had been searching for the missing Shining Hand. Caution is being suggested at the centre.

3 paladins missing for some time now from Hlint are feared dead. They were last heard of acting on information received and heading north into the Whitehorn forest at speed. All others making enquiry into the alleged abduction of the Shining Hand are urged to act with caution.

An expedition into deep into Broken Hall, made up of Daniella, Balazar, Mandalorian, Tod, and Meryth found the remains of the missing paladins and destroyed vampires found there.

Acting Hand Cal set up a committee to debate this new development, meanwhile acting Gauntlet Theodosia Varamost ordered no further unofficial attempts should be made to find the Hand meantime.

Lex'or, Balazar, Daniella and Angel report their findings on a Map that led them into the Ire Mountains. It was drawn up by a ranger who had reported seeing five dark robed figures and a older man being taken away.

The map was discusses with Marl and acted upon by the four, It led them to a cave with a few vampires who were quickly killed but no Quantum was found there.

However Angel an Aeradenite priest who had gone into the cave with the others but unknown to the rest of the party was dragged away suddenly from behind, and nearly killed when his attackers found out he was not a toranite.

He reported seeing Quantum alive and noted his condition as very poor. He was unable to help him after they slit his throat and thought him near dead. He was still alive  however and managed to escape and eluded capture for a time to find the one they called "the Boss", before he used their nearby portal and made a hasty leave.
after some debriefing  in the Llast temple with Balazar, Angel, Le'xor and Daniella and Tristan, some plans were brought before the temple as to their next action.

We've narrowed it down to the Ire mountains. a more promising outlook i should think. *states Balazar*

With this sighting of Quantum in captivity acting Hand deliberated over action while acting Gauntlet Theodosia Varamost issued the following edict.

With no fresh clues and a new sense of urgency once again followers of Toran are encouraged to remain watchful and seek to pursue all clues as to the whereabouts of the Hand. Proceed with caution less more of the devoted fall.

Temple watchers assume some new information has sparked this renewed search but nothing else was forthcoming.
