Just needed clarification on this.

I understand no half race children are allowed....but....

What would the child of a half-elf and a human be?

Half-elf? Or human? Or...er....3/4 human 1/4 elf?

I did query with Dan/ Big L ....
...but I might have missed this point. Since the kid wouldn't exactly be half anything.
Also... the same might apply for er.... other races...ie Honora and Galen ( Half-Orc and Human ... as weird as that maybe

)

Half creatures are considered sterile as of the end of 1420, as far as I am aware. That would mean they are unable to have children no matter who their partner is.

If we were to slay Aeriden so that he had zero control over life and the genomes of the masses, could that possibly revert reporduction to being solely dictated by the biological interactions of DNA structures in a scientific fashion?

Also, what's the healing check DC for stem cell research? Could a drinking flask tied to a rope and swung by a hasted ogre make a proper centrifuge? :p

Well... it is sort of solely dictated by the biological interactions of DNA structures in a scientific fashion... Now, that is. An elf and a human are actually vastly different, after all - in this new convention, it was only Aeridin's gift that let them reproduce...probably because he had a human or orc girlfriend at some point. Clearly the IG quest stuff was only a side excuse - they likely just broke up. So rather than suppressing interactions, he's just no longer influencing them.

That's what you get for trusting Aeridin to let you breed, instead of looking to the mother of all baby rearing!

And another thing...

What about Aasimar and Tiefling? I mean, they are 1/8 outsider or less, so pretty much human... Are they still sterile?

There are a lot of orphanages - Jilseponie's in Prantz, the one Jennara built in Western Gate, the one Lyn Tobias runs in Leringard.

I don't know about aasimar and tieflings. My guess is that some will want them to be sterile, but it's true that if an elf and a human mixed that far back, and it was humans down the line ever since, the current result would be considered fully human, and capable of reproduction with other humans. Seems like it would be the same way here, but yeah. Never know.

My gut guess (to be verified by Leanthar and/or EdTheKet), would be that Aasimar and Tieflings are "impure" and may very well be sterile.

My other gut guess is that they would reproduce as humans only, and all touches of planar heritage would be utterly and completely missing from any future offspring.

What Dorganath stated is spot on. There are no crosses of any races, of any sorts, any more. We still allow them to be created in NwN simply because it is the engine that we have at this time and it is D&D but there will not be any offspring, just "characters" or NPC's that were already alive before 1420.

Question: It was stated, back in the What Is A Half-Elf thread, that if you breed a half-elf with a human, then breed that with a human, eventually you'll get something that is, for all intents and purposes, human.

However, would this For-All-Intents-And-Purposes human be considered human enough by Aeridin to make human babies with another human?

Mechanical benefit is what was discussed in the thread you mentioned.

However, if Aasimar and Teliflings are sterile (or unable to breed other then human) then so to are partial-elf-but-mechanically-human characters. The call on whether they would breed as humans would be Ed's.
